I (host David Dye) talk with author Michelle Mercer about "Will You Take Me As I Am: Joni Mitchell's Blue Period. She has some fascinating and insightful theories about Joni's music in her most beloved period (from "Blue" to "Hejira") and along the way reveals who and what every song is about! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2009 08:41:10 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty... Plus you've gotta love the way the two LPs are placed side by side. They look like boobies. Maybe it was just your mention of the word "naughty" that put my mind in that particular way of thinking. I wonder if your company's email will reject this one for the use of the word "boobies." - --- On Thu, 8/13/09, Bob.Muller@Fluor.com wrote: > From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com > Subject: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty... > To: joni@smoe.org > Received: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 8:41 AM > Ya gotta love Ebay sellers who don't > proof their ads: > > http://tinyurl.com/ol9f8g > > Bob ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2009 09:37:42 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty... It was pretty wacky...the ad states 2-disc and the details say it's the gold DCC version, then the picture shows (2) vinyl LP's, one with the Reprise label, one with the Asylum label - very strange. I noticed that the seller has "0" feedback - he must be brand new and his sales career is off to a dubious beginning. Maybe he just needs a good sparking. At woodstock people just smoked pot, took acid and looked for a place they could go to the bathroom. At Kent State four people died for principle, justice and freedom. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2009 17:01:32 -0500 From: T Peckham Subject: Re: The Joni Album for when you're feeling naughty... I looked and looked at this trying to figure out what the heck Bob was talking about. Then I finally took a good look at the title and really did lol! Funny! But I was wondering why this ad says 2 discs and why there is a photo of a record with a Reprise label and another one with an Asylum label. C&S was released on Asylum, right? And I *know* it was a single record lp. What's up with that I wonder? Cyndi talked about and sang Carey very much like she did for the 2000 TNT Tribute. She introduced it saying she had been invited to this TV thing, but not asked to perform. Then somebody dropped out and they said well Lauper's gonna be there anyway, so how about her? I was thrilled to see her do it live, altho most of the crowd went to get a drink. Fellow attenders were a bit taken back when I knew every word! You just never know when you will receive your daily dose of Joni. Hoping all are well.
