And tomorrow's a new month, I'd better ready another CD's worth of stuff. It's a beautiful rendition: it don't add much to the song, but... it's a pleasure to listen to it in a "new" voice... (I really enjoy *almost* every Joni cover) BTW, if there's anybody here with problems listenting to this song on-line (streaming 'n bandwith trouble, etc), I felt free to upload it (for listening a couple of times before deciding to buy the album, etc: you know...) it's already at https://www.yousendit.com/download/dVlyQ1ZnUzgwZ2tLSkE9PQ Have a Wonderful time! I read it to mean that Joni enjoyed the fact that she didn't back down when her ire was raised. So many interviewers tend to back off when Joni gets 'angry' - leaving the 'bitter old woman' impression in their articles. Michelle was able to cut through that by hanging in there when the going got tough. Al least that's my take on this interview... - ------ http://www.nowtoronto.com/daily/story.cfm?content=169252 Some very (cough, cough) interesting comments from Joni's "intellectual equal." I understand what you mean. Sometimes I'd prefer for some things to remain a mystery and some info is just too much info. I did hear Michelle's interview on CBC's Q and I found her to be intelligent and wellspoken and non-gossipy. In fact,Michelle was at the last NE Jonifest that I was at, but I never really got the chance to speak to her. I don't remember if she was there for the whole thing or not. It's all a blur now. I don't think I'd like my life dissected like that either. Once I'm dead, fair game. the thing is, whatever might have been going on in Joan's life at the time, once it's past, it's history and we all have our own way of remembering events and what we were feeling at the time, and what we remember feeling might not necessarily be what we actually felt at the time. If that makes any sense. As I said in the previous paragraph, it's all a blur once the time has gone by. - --- On Thu, 4/30/09, gerard mclaughlin wrote: I just went to the bookshop and read sections of the book.
