The full track list should be: 1. Chelsea Morning. 2. Hunter 3. The Gallery 4. Cactus Tree 5. My Old Man 6. For Free 7. Woodstock 8. All I Want 9. California 10. Big Yellow Taxi 11. Both Sides, Now with lots of banter in between songs which is probably also cut from this version. This looks like the track list from the recent re- broadcast on BBC 1 which was heavily edited. I have both versions on disc (thanks to some very kind and generous people on this list) and the truncated version is of much higher quality because it came from the recent BBC broadcast. We have the Creekstone Inn http://www.creekstoneinn.com/index.html locked out for us and I have a fine additional rental reserved for more beds. The weather should be warm but not oppressive at that time and Idyllwild itself is a gorgeous place, full of liberal minded writers, painters and musicians (I know dozens of them as we've been going there for years). Totally gay friendly BTW. We will have a full stage setup for evening music sets and of course daytime impromptus, there are brilliant hiking trails, and the town is full of interesting shops and restaurants. Players/singers are especially welcome, but we need keen listeners just as much. Our own "Joni Band" will perform at least one of the nights; if you've ever wanted to hear Down to You performed in full with all orchestral and vocal parts or perhaps A Chair in the Sky or Jungle Line, you will want to attend. The total cost will be about $450 per person and that includes accommodation, all meals, beer and wine, and special goodies. I say "about" because we haven't priced out all the provisions and such, but I am striving to bring the price down a little from $450 if we can without skimping on anything fun. The remaining balance, once calculated, will be due by August 1st. If you're wanting to come please send me a deposit of $105 (the $5 is to defray PayPal fees) per person to my email address. If you are PayPal phobic you can contact me offlist and I'll give you my mailing address to send a check (without the $5 fee) as soon as possible, but at any rate not later than MAY 1st. Also you'd need to subscribe to the 2009 JoniFest Yahoo group created for the event here: SoCalJoniFest09-subscribe@yahoogroups.com That way we can communicate amongst ourselves off the JMDL. I just wanted to advertise this again in case someone who might be interested hadn't been checking their JMDL posts for a while. I hope to meet as many of you as possible, or see you again, as the case may be. cheers, Dave ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2009 10:00:19 -0800 From: "Lindsay Moon" Subject: Pink Dress release < Ah, don't we all dream of being "Joni's people"?? ; ) Lindsay ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2009 14:35:49 -0500 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: Pink Dress release If we're NOT Joni's people, I don't know who is! Someone named Maureen Bonli was a guest at the Raising the Barre dinner last night! I wonder if that was Henry's wife or daughter. Wish I could have gone to the dinner.. will have to see if they got any footage of 'The Way It Is'! Also.. as someone who just had a marriage last only 1.5 years due to stifling conditions for creativity (& mental / emotional health), good for Joni for driving to NYC after one year with Chuck. I hadn't realized how similarly short that marriage was. Sounds like she made off with a new last name and whatever could fit in her car. If I was on wheels I probably would have driven away too! It's so much more poetic than the scurrying away I had to do. And I'll never get married again. I suspect that man's ownership over woman can never extend successfully to female artists. Ultimately I think that when threatened to lose our ability to procreate via art, leaving is not only a matter of self-preservation, but a means to save those offspring of inspiration still trying to be born. Any man that would try to take that from us is obviously not a suitable father.
