I love what Kate of the North wrote also concerning Issa's selfless work. How could I not go there? Though, because of arctic blasts that have been blowing down here through Texas, blowing the Texas Hill Country's mountain cedar in droves that it knocked me down flat cold, I'm still with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band with the Blind Boys of Alabama's music, but too weak to listen and truly focus on it's power and beauty. But, I know Issa is next and I hope her music becomes a staple in my life now because she sounds like a pure soul and I'm so in need of truth and beauty from a kindred sister right now, as I always do. Thanks again to everybody on the JMDL for a sense of positive direction giving me a little strength here and there to endure the punches life sends me. High fives and hugs to ALL! I won't argue with that, but I don't understand about the financial thing. His royalties should be enough to support him. Did he sign them away to somebody? He was at one point supposed to appear here in Israel during his tour, but the appearance was cancelled, the stated reason being that he couldn't fill a stadium here. But other performers-- Jose Feliciano, Stacey Kent, Ron Carter-- come here, perform in clubs, and go away without losing money on the trip. Why does Leonard Cohen need to raise funds on such a grand scale? - ------------------------------------------------ Mark L. AUCTION? Last day) It looks like we don't have a lot of Issa fans on this list, or they've already got her CD, but anyway, the highest bid in when I sit down to check my email tomorrow morning will be mailed her new one in return for a donation to the jonimitchell.com website. High bid is $10, and there is only one so far. Anyone else interested in bidding? Last chance.
