Jim, my experience with my yahoo address, just in case it is the same with yours, is that you can never be 100% sure that all messages will arrive.B Now and then, and it seems to go in waves, certain emails never get to me at all, and I think also some of my mails never reach their destination.B I also experience the late deliveries that Catherine mentions, but sorry to say, some delays are "indefinite"! (And it's not the spam filter, either!) I'm sure I don't need to tell you Jim, but just in case anybody else has the same problem, I want to remind them that they can always catch up with digests by going to this site: http://www.smoe.org/lists/joni/ With my best seasonal wishes to all JMDL friends, Lieve. - ------------------- Date: Sun, 21 Dec 2008 19:16:09 -0500 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Re: Did anyone else miss these digests? njc Thanks for writing.B I remembered that JMDL posts sometimes go to your spam folder, so I already checked there.B No joy.B I think you're right that they'll show up eventually. Reconciliation is one of the most powerful and moving experiences available to us; Dickens certainly knew that. Strange you should mention that; I just saw a local theater production of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and there were many instances where I had to try hard to hold back my tears. For example, at the point where the ghost of Christmas present takes Scrooge to where the good Samaritans are bringing handouts to the poor and homeless, and he looks on to see one of the needy give HIS OWN gift to another person in the group. (I guess I'm more susceptible to melancholy feelings at this time of year) I'm generally quite sensitive and can easily cry during certain scenes or passages in films or books, but not as likely with songs. Those most apt to do it for me if I'm in a funky mood to begin with: "Keep Me In Your Heart For A While", by Warren Zevon (especially considering he made the album knowing he was going to die within months) "Fountain of Sorrow", and "For A Dancer", by Jackson Browne "River" (Joni) and, most of all, "Remember (Christmas)" by Harry Nilsson (I miss that man); Long ago, far away Life was clear Close your eyes Remember is a place from long ago Remember filled with everything you know Remember when you're sad and feelin' down Remember turn around Remember life is just a memory Remember close your eyes and you can see Remember think of all that life can be Remember-- Dream love is only in a dream Remember-- Remember life is never as it seems Dream-- Dream love is only in a dream Remember-- Remember life is never as it seems Dream-- Long ago, far away Life was clear Close your eyes-- Kenny B ************** One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail.
