There is a 'rumour' that Jane / Issa will be meeting fans on Sunday Dec 7. 4-6 pm in Hotel Chelsea lobby in NYC. 23 St @ 7-8 Aves. Quite 'certain' but not 'officially' confirmed. Email me off-list if you want confirmation (if I get it). Issa's new CD, Dragon Dreams, was released by her on Dec.1 & will be available there. http://www.sheeba.ca/store/home.php Other Dec appearances in ...... Toronto - Sat D'6 (short concert too). And San Fran & Vancouver sometime in Dec (see 'tour' tab). http://www.issalight.com/indexmain.html She is doing these "Come'n'Go" appearances for the new CD. Those familiar with Issa know she initiated 'self-pricing' for buying her music, and has shunned as much of the commercial 'business' approach to music as possible. from her site: "* WHAT IS A 'COME & GO'? In the cities where Issa is travelling, she will hold court in lobbies, donut shops or subway cars for a couple of hours so you can pick up cds in person. You come and you go. A list of any kind is so subjective. Maybe it can help stimulate or motivate people to check out a particular artist or author. Other than that, I hardly read lists any longer...funny, that used to be one of my new year rituals. Joni HAS to be number ONE...but that's my subjective feeling. Wouldn't it be fabulous if she would be recognized in this way??? I'd sure break out a special bottle to that...and wish I could share it with all my Digest pals....and, in my dreams...Joni!!! Will Kay's CD be on "CD Baby"??? Paul, I want to wish you a belated yet very heartfelt congratulations on your marriage. The description you wrote shined with the love you and your darling share. I feel so happy for you!!! May all the blessing you have come to fruition!! Just wanted to make a suggestion for holiday presents...Kate's "Over the Moon" is giving me such pleasure...lyrics written from her heart-center and love her voice!!!! Here IS a list I would be so grateful to have: a list of all Digest musicians who have Cd's for purchase (and where I can buy them). For me this is the ultimate holiday present I would want to share with the people I love and hold dear to my heart. Want to let you know that I stumbled across an interesting website..Swaptree.com You can list any Cd's or books you have on your "have" list and then list what you'd want on your "wish" list. Swaptree notifies you when a swap happens. You pay only to send the item. Just want to know...does anyone like Anna Nalick, India Arie, Craig Davis, Suzanne Vega?? How about Motown artists??? Wishing you all a SAFE approach to the holiday season. Hugs and kisses!!! I know I've said it before, but Kay's CD is my favorite this year. I can't recommend it enough, especially for Joni lovers. That is people who love Joni's music. Not Joni's lovers, though I'm sure they'd like it too. How about Motown artists??? >>> Hi Bo, I grew up on Motown. In England when I was a teen it's what we danced to at the youth clubs while the US was listening to the Mersey beat. Regarding India Arie... WOW is how I feel about her. It was unfortunate that she and Alicia Keys were both nominated for new artist of the year Grammy in 2002! I think India Arie sings such positive messages, such as: "Strength Courage and Wisdom" Inside my head there lives a dream that I want to see in the sun Behind my eyes there lives a me that I've been hiding for much too long 'Cause I've been, too afraid to let it show 'Cause I'm scared of the judgment that may follow Always putting off my living for tomorrow It's time to step out on faith, I've gotta show my faith It's been illusive for so long, but freedom is mine today I've gotta step out on faith, It's time to show my faith Procrastination had me down but look what I have found, I found [Chorus] Strength, courage, and wisdom And it's been inside of me all along, Strength, courage, and wisdom Inside of me Behind my pride there lives a me, that knows humility Inside my voice there is a soul, and in my soul there is a voice But I've been, too afraid to make a choice 'Cause I'm scared of the things that I might be missing Running too fast to stop and listen It's time to step out on faith, I've gotta show my faith It's been illusive for so long but freedom is mine today I've gotta step out on faith it's time to show my faith Procrastination had me down but look what I have found, I found [Chorus] Strength, courage, and wisdom And it's been inside of me all along, Strength, courage, and wisdom Inside of me [Bridge] I close my eyes and I think of all the things that I want to see 'Cause I know, now that I've opened up my heart I know that Anything I want can be, so let it be, so let it be:. [Chorus] Strength, courage, and wisdom It's been inside of me all along, Strength, courage, wisdom It's been inside of me all along, everyday I'm praying for: [Chorus] Strength, courage, and wisdom To find me, yeah, Strength, courage, and wisdom Inside of me I found it in me, I found it finally I'm sure to keep it' cause I like it, I say thank you and: "Video" Sometimes I shave my legs and sometimes I don't Sometimes I comb my hair and sometimes I won't Depend of how the wind blows I might even paint my toes It really just depends on whatever feels good in my soul Chorus I'm not the average girl from your video And I ain't built like a supermodel But I learned to love myself unconditionally, Because I am a queen I not the average girl from your video My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes No matter what I'm wearing I will always be India.Arie When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me Every freckle on my face is where it's suppose to be And I know my creator didn't make no mistakes on me My feet, my thighs, my Lips, my eyes, I'm loving what I see Chorus Am I less of a lady if I don't where panty hose My momma said a lady ain't what she wears but what she knows. But I've drawn the conclusion, it's all an illusion Confusion's the name of the game A misconception, a vast deception, Something got to change Now don't be offended this is all my opinion Ain't nothing that I'm saying law This is a true confession Of a life learned lesson I was sent here to share with y'all So get in when you fit in Go on and shine Clear your mind Now's the time Put your salt on the shelf Go on and love yourself 'Cause everything's gonna be alright Chorus Out Keep your fancy drink, and your expensive minks I don't need that to have a good time Keep your expensive cars and your caviar All's I need is my guitar Keep your Crystale and your pistol I'd rather have a pretty piece of crystal Don't need you silicone, I prefer my own What god gave me is just fine. Chorus So if you made it this far and have never listened to India Arie, give her a chance, you might like what you hear.
