After all, you're not talking about the weather or a local council election. This is completely pertinent to the people on this list. It is a topic that is important for all members to know about. I'm not just saying this because I am the organiser of OzFest because I have followed the progress of every JoniFest that has come and gone with immense interest. That is, of course, the reason I wanted to organise one myself. From Bob Muller's mad stumble across the English countryside to find Holycombe to Full Moon to the amazing recordings from UK JoniFest '08. It has all been wonderful stuff and an extension of why we are here. JoniFest is definitely ON TOPIC in my opinion. Good luck with your minifest in London. Sure wish I could be there. Great find. Thanks for that. Anyway, I have this as an mp3 if anyone wants it. Since there are a couple copies in circulation I feel confident that we will complete this journey at some point. Still lacking Stevie Wonder's "Woodstock", Etta James' "Amelia" and Janet Jackson's "Beat Of Black Wings", the studio version of Elton John's "Free Man In Paris" - I think that's it. The Lindsay Moon That Lives In Wolf wrote: Of course I'm giving Dennis endless grief about this because Joni to him represents the antithesis of the heavy metal he now loves. So I needle him with interviews with Robert Plant saying he's enamored of Joni, show him pictures of Joni and Eric Clapton, and now Slash who grew up down the street from her. Hahaha. One of these days, it will hit him like a lightning bolt. >>> As i told you before, i introduced Joni via Slash/Robert Plant to my 16 y o brother who's great at playing electric guitar, Riadi. And it works even though his music is quite like antithesis to Joni's 70's sounds. He said that he doesn't really get into Joni though he thinks Joni's great. But i know it's a lie. It's just a denial. I've seen him playing This Flight Tonight and (the latest one) playing Hejira (the song) again and again as a lullaby. Anyway Lindsay, thanks for the story about Slash's parents and their relations with Joni. I'm gonna tell this to my brother. Of course. Hopefully all of this stuff gets to see the light of day sometime. In the meantime I'm trying to keep the covers flowing, Volume 107 in the never-ending covers train is right around the corner. I remember back in the Kazaa days, they had this Lindsay Buckingham cover, but only 30 seconds of it...D'oh. When I saw that on YouTube, I didn't think it would last very long - I was right, it got taken down in a matter of hours. It would be the first time someone wants to interview Slash to ask about his parents. Jim L'Hommedieu PS, It's good to see your name again, Lindsay. Lindsay Moon & Lindsay Buckingham in the same digest. >And after I rummage around in my albums, I find Anthony Hudson's name as art designer on Court & Spark. Interesting! Les, can you get an interview with Slash and see what he remembers about her??? (Oh, yeah, and can Dennis get his autograph? ; )> ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2008 #248 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe
