So, to clarify, ALL of September is currently unbooked and the last two weeks of October are possible if we put down our deposit money (as they have a couple of unpaid tentatives on the books so far and our payment would bump them). I'm sure there will be takers to go on the trail with you. October is usually the Santa Ana winds month (hence the wildfires every few years in October), but I'm not sure if it has as much effect at that altitude (about 5300 feet). The humidity in Idyllwild is always super dry anyway. The response so far is very encouraging. I'm not sure anyone has posted this to the list before but I don't remember seeing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AATdTSUfjk&NR=1 I know it's a day late but I do want to wish Joni all the best as she enters her 65th year of her extraordinary life. Yesterday before I left for work I had an itch to hear Steeleye Span's 'Hark the Village Wait' so I grabbed it before going out the door. When I got home later and then left to go to the gym, I remembered it was Joni's birthday. 'The Lowlands of Holland' was the next song up on 'Hark the Village Wait' and I decided that was too low of a note to start the weekend off with and I needed to pay some kind of tribute to Joni. 'Blue' was handy. 'Blue' actually starts off on an upbeat note with 'All I Want' and 'My Old Man', which both played on my way to the gym. Then 'Little Green' came on as I got in the car to drive home. Followed by 'Carey' its sadness was somewhat mitigated but it got me to thinking about all the different things that came together in this year. Joni turned 65, Kilauren was born in 1965, 'Song to a Seagull' turned 40 and the US elected an intelligent, dignified, articulate man to be our president. I wanted to send a post about 'Blue' when Mags asked us to share our thoughts about it. It's still in me but sometimes getting it out takes awhile. For now, although it's a day late, I just want to say Happy Birthday, Joni! Be well and be happy.
