So, first term I tried of course was "Joni Mitchell" :) See the results here: http://tinyurl.com/63juu2 You can get more detailed results and numbers if you have some Google account that you can log in with. moni ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 06 Aug 2008 10:17:07 +0200 From: Moni Kellermann Subject: Re: And speaking of languages... Geographically it is Yugoslavian as for 1979. But Yugoslavian is not a language. Neca Falk is a Slovenian artist. The language here is Slovene. moni ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 06 Aug 2008 05:41:23 -0700 From: "Mark Scott" Subject: Re: Mamma Mia..vljc - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gordon Mackie" To: Cc: Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2008 2:11 AM Subject: Re: Joni mention in sitcom..njc > Hey Jerry, kudos for knowing Christine Baranski. I had no intention of seeing 'Mamma Mia!' as I was never an Abba fan and the whole idea of a musical based on their songs seemed kinda dumb to me. But a friend I don't see as often as I would like wanted to see it and said no-one in her household would go with her and she asked me to go with her. Travis wanted to see it too, as it turned out, so the three of us went. I have to say the movie's a hoot! Silly, but fun. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters almost succeed in totally stealing the show. I can see drag numbers galore coming out of this movie. But the miraculous Meryl Streep seems to be able to do anything. She manages to make 'The Winner Takes It All' into a torch song deluxe and she is a true diva when she sings it. For me the movie was somewhat reminiscent of some of the sillier, more elaborate movie musicals of the 40s. It's just pure, silly fun. And if Greece, Crete, etc. look anything like the settings where they made this movie, then I can easily see why Joni was enchanted with it. There are a couple of shots of the night that look very much like 'a starry dome'. Very beautiful. Oh, and Pierce Brosnan will never get a record deal. Otherwise, most of the singing was pretty darn good. I just can't imagine. So now I'm trembling like Magdalene like a washing on a line.
