Thanks for another fine volume. I particularly liked Louciana Souza's, Down To You. I also really liked the two tracks from the British group, Woodstock. They do try to be faithful to Joni's original sound but there's nothing wrong with that. Sarah Morrau is wonderful. It's just a shame about all the finger sliding on the guitar strings. Very distracting. Mark in Sydney NP Rivers - Peter Gabriel featuring Marta Sebestyen (an exquisite track from Peter Gabriel's new album, Big Blue Ball and featuring guest vocals from a number of very interesting singers) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jul 2008 12:53:15 -0700 (PDT) From: Brian Gross Subject: Re: an actress that could play a young Joni Hi Jimmy, I agree with you about Shanna. And her character of Laurie is just sassy enough to believe she'd be out sneaking smokes at 9 and dancing on the wrong side of the tracks like Joan did! I like the show too. The music, while certainly dated, takes me right back. That was the summer after my graduation from Lehigh. Ahh, the old days. I also like the show in the same time slot on NBC called "Fear Itself" A couple of those standalone shows have been scary as hell. Glad to hear you and Ed are doing well. Hugs for both of you. later, Brian nw Phils 2, D'backs 2 - ----------------------------------------------------------- Politicians and diapers both need to be changed often. David Crosby's first solo album was like a Who's Who for the late 60s CA music scene. Among the people mentioned in the notes are Joni. She appears courtesy of WB, yada, yada. And her picture is there amongst pictures of members of the Dead, the Airplane, Quicksilver, Santana and other SF players. But, I could never figure out where she was musically on the album. I only have the CD and the notes aren't that detailed. Well, I was listening to the song "Laughing" today and toward the end, one of the background singers hits some high notes, and for some reason, I must've just been listening to it the right way. I'm pretty sure its Joni. Don't know why I never noticed before. Can anyone confirm that? Maybe someone has the LP and maybe it has more detailed notes?
