Facebookers can now add this charity to their profile. The world food crisis is bad news. Hungry little ones. Who let the greedy in And who left the needy out Who made this salty soup Tell him we're very hungry now For a sweeter fare In the cookie I read "Some get the gravy And some get the gristle Some get the marrow bone And some get nothing Though there's plenty to spare" And in a bit of personal synchronicity (thanks to the Internet) I just a few days ago reconnected with an 8th grade "boyfriend" I haven't seen since Hejira came out (calendars of our lives: 1976). He is a senior officer at the U.N. in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, working on this enormous problem. Hmm.....maybe I'll got to Amsterdam, maybe I'll go to Rome! My enthusiasm for Joni was so contagious when talking to the girl who interviewed me. I talked about how Chaka is a fan of hers, how Herbie Hancock is a fan of hers and how he won a Grammy for his tribute album to her. It was really cool because she was a music buff herself and totally got into my conversation about Joni. Before we knew it, a whole hour had gone by. She was good people and I was very humbled and honored. SherelleRandy wrote:> > Real cool, Sherelle!
