Photos from Mandolin Bros Hey, Chuck, Thanks for supplying the link to my Kodak slideshow site; I had fogotten all about that (plus I never remember how exactly to furnish a link to that site for folks to look at it). And, yes, you must "sign up" to view the albums but there's no charge to do so. If anyone is interested, the pix from my trip to the last JoniFest (upstate NY) as well as "Night in the City" are there as well. Kenny B ************** Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. When Joni first announced her partnership with the Starbucks corporation I remember hearing lots of grumbling about it..They are the enemy of the world apparently(i wonderif the ceo of dunkin donuts started that)..lol. Because of this i have to qualify my actions by saying I was out of work for months nearing a zero balance no voice overs no politics all of my usual money making devices were dried up...A good friend of mine led me to her starbucks and I was working two days later..It's not as bad as I thought...In fact, I find it quite enjoyable...The main reason is I get to hear Joni at work more often than not...The people who control the music lol send a feed to each store and it plays throughout while showing album art etc on an hdtv...Whoever is picking the playlist loves joni..joni, tori amos miles davis some really good stuff...So as I justify my work at starbucks..The only thing I kind of hate is the fact that i work in a very affluent area...It's very hard for me to relate to people who throw money at you to pay for their drink, and have other people raise their kids..Not becuase they have to work to support the kid..But because they have yoga and pilates and the such..There are a few wonderful people but not on the whole...Yesterday as the store was filled with some of the people I just mentioned the man behind the music curtain decided to play Harry's House..The smile on my face was measurable..I wanted everyone in the store to listen to every word and throw down their Soy skinny latte and start burning their bras and workout gear...I still hold onto the fact that one of em actually listened to the song.. But it was a great big cosmic kaboom in my head..I loved it!! I love the power of Joni's songs.. I am also happy to report that I made a joni mix for the 19 year old surfer I work with and he LOVED it..I am still trying to figure out where he surfs in jersey but that's another story..Hope everyone is well xoxo Kev ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 2008 13:05:48 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Bo Diddley dies Besides being a legend in every sense of the word, his "Bo Diddley Beat" inspired a thousand songs, among them Joni's "Dr. Junk". I immediately started singing Dawntreader. Well, didn't YOU? "Peridots and periwinkle blue medallions Gilded galleons spilled across the ocean floor Treasure somewhere in the sea and he will find where...." which of course led to Song to a Seagull, and then Sisotowbell Lane, and..... Ach du Joni Liebers! Question: 67 or 68? Nah, I know it was 68. Wow. And it's been forty years since she last saw Richard! The first time I heard Joni was in Monroe in 68 and she told me just about everything I ever needed to know. Better than kindergarten! And the seasons, they go round and round... xo, pp for peridots and periwinkles and peace and painted ponies and pickling jars _________________________________________________________________ Keep your kids safer online with Windows Live Family Safety. http://www.windowslive.com/family_safety/overview.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_Refresh_family_safety_052008 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 2008 16:15:18 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: JMOCDed in the workplace again No mold on that one, I love that Chicago track. What week are you going? Oooh....look up at the sky, Bob. See that black crow flying? Watch him diving down to pick up every shiny thing. Look, now he's going back up again! Keep looking up! Pssssst to everyJonibody else: Let's crash Bob's Periwinkle house!!!! Now we have the exact directions! I'll get the date out of him and I'll email you off-list. Or we'll just wait until he announces that he will be off-list for a week because he's going to the beach. Tee hee..... I love all the quilts up on the small white beds. Lovely. I can see happy sun-kissed kiddies and aging children all packed into those beds in those rooms after a day of fun in the sun. (Pack it in I heard you did! Pack it in) I envy you the valley that you've found! (As you can see I've gone through STAS and am now on Clouds). I'd love to put on the day at the Periwinkle. Val wouldn't mind a few campers in her kitchen, would she? Tell her we'd promise to wipe the beach tar off our feet. And I'll show you my best recipes! Fresh salmon frying, with the tide, rolllllllllllllllllling in. Here is a shell for you Inside you'll hear a sigh A foggy lullaby Goodnight all you Periwinkle princes and princesses! xo, pp, going off on all of Joni's seashore lyrics...how do you stop? _________________________________________________________________ Change the world with e-mail.
