Abra abracadabra, I wanna reach > out and grab ya Thanks, Deb. Thanks alot. I had thoroughly forgotten that song. Which was a good thing, it was a very good thing. There was enough horror from the 80s which I'd love to forget but can't that it was nice to have one thing that I didn't remember. But now you've ruined that. F***. I don't know what else to say, David NPIMH: Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra PS I know that people can recall painful repressed memories under hypnosis. Is the opposite possible? What if I want to repress a painful memory that I don't want to recall anymore. Can I do that? Don't the spooks do stuff like that, erasing memories and stuff? Or is that just in the movies? I mean, if they can hypnotize a person into forgetting that they're really a Soviet agent living undercover, and not some normal Joe selling used cars in Lubbock, TX, surely they can make me forget one friggin' song, right? I'll start checking the Yellow Pages for hypnotists first thing Monday. And I'll tell them to send the bill to Deb Messling. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 21:55:36 -0400 From: "Richard Flynn" Subject: RE: lyrics that suck Some called him the Space Cowboy, some called him the Gangster of Love Som people called him Maurice (insert goofy whistle here) Because he spoke of the Pompatus of Love Now, them's lyrics, Bay-bee (Austin Powers voice) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-joni@smoe.org [mailto:owner-joni@smoe.org] On Behalf Of David Eoll Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2008 9:34 PM To: joni@smoe.org Subject: re: lyrics that suck > From: Deb Messling > Subject: Re: NJC Lyricists > How could they omit Steve Miller? I left it on "The Party Never Stops" which I think aired on the Lifetime Movie Network. The movie was about a female college student who indulges in binge drinking to the point that it negatively affects everything in her life. This girl was walking from class with a boy she just met before class and they were talking about music. The conversation with the Joni mention went something like this: College boy: You know who Nick Drake is? College girl: Live hard, die young, leave 3 brilliant albums. That's the way to music immortality. Singers like Joni Mitchell have to work for it. College boy: No way?!? You're a fan of hers too? Girl: What she did with Mingus was brilliant. It is still untouched to this day. END OF THAT SCENE -Monika Tired of spam? Yahoo!
