Yet it was overshadowed commercially by two other major albums released by Simon's own label, Elektra/Asylum, in the same month as Hotcakes, Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark and Bob Dylan's Planet Waves. These took the number two and number one spots, respectively, on the Billboard album chart while Hotcakes peaked at number three. So, 1. Bob Dylan - Planet Waves (which i haven't heard) 2. Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark (which i love) 3. Carly Simon - Hotcakes (which i'm willing to listen) Rian PS. Owh... i answer my own question NP. My favorites are The Silky Veils of Ardor, DJRD, and Talk To Me. Anyone notice that Silky Veils of Ardor is really a reworking of the bluegrass/folk standard Fair and Tender Ladies? Of course, Joni infuses it with her own poetry. And the chord progression is all her, as well. I didn't even recognize it until quite recently. I don't know why it is, but the lyrics are always the last thing to sink in for me. Always. I can listen to music for years, literally years, and not know the words, except for the chorus or the hook, or whatever. > Although I will say I still prefer MOA's Jericho to DJRD's Jericho...only because of the drumming really. > -M I looove the last two songs of MoA. The whole thing really. MoA is an example of what used to be known in the music business as "a great f***in' record". So, are those Joni's painted toenails on the cover?
