I LOVE the name 'Amelia'...how lovely. And how does Amelia like the planet so far? And, Paz,...I laughed and laughed...never heard of the word "wanker"!!!! Kate, I agree with you completely about Joni's generalization to the 1970's generation...maybe she meant the late, late 1970's or, more pronounced, the generation of the 1980's. I grew up in the 1960's and I still hold the values of that time so close to my heart and my behavior. I hitched to Woodstock for my honeymoon with Ken and arrived 10 days prior to the concerts!!! Now that was an experience I couldn't make it through today....no food...no reasonable bathroom facilities....but did we ever have FUN!!!!!!!! I was so disappointed that Joni wasn't there but maybe we wouldn't have Joni's "Woodstock" if she had been at Woodstock. It sure seems as though the greater percentage of Americans did not integrate the teachings of Earth Day in their daily lives. And the horrid GREED I've seen and felt all around me in the 1980's and 1990's and these first years of 2000. What needs to happen....what tragedy....before the wake up call resonates? "Shine" says SO MUCH!!!! But will enough people listen to the lyrics...or, for that matter, listen to "Shine". Switching gears....I'm so sad to learn that Stephen Sills is dealing with recovery from prostate cancer. I'm sure he has a dynamic support system. Thanks for the link, Patti. Another big gear switch...maybe Stephen Sill's jogged my memory. I wanted everyone to know that I've heard of a very good RX program. It's called "TAKEDA"...no requirements and brand names of meds are covered. For information call 1-800-830-9159 or visit www.tpna.com...wait ...there are requirements...no RX coverage through private or governmental programs....total income does not exceed $20,420 for the first person and $6,690 for each additional person in household. Just wanted to pass the info along. Enjoy Sunday!!! Much love from Bo - --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. It's been too quiet without you. As for WTRF, I have to throw in "You Dream Flat Tires" as a favorite, although now that I look at the tracklisting that's a tough (and certainly not a very popular) choice. I always think of WTRF in its entirety as opposed to a collection of songs. C&S is another album that has that same affect on me. There's nothing on WTRF that I don't like - it came along at a time in my life when I really needed some Joni. The sequencing of the songs is amazing, and I love the joy & energy emanating from it. I loved reading the first Digest posted today.(Monday). I never know what I might want to write about or respond to so I just put "It's Bo" in the subject line.....oh soo boring. I saw this fabulous video and encourage everyone who is interested in the viability of our planet to watch....it's great and the web site is terrific: http://www.storyofstuff.com/index.html Ah....my faves from Wild Things...."Ladies'Man"..."Be Cool"..."Man To Man"....I loved Joni's art work on that album. Patti, I can't wait to get "Hotel California"...thanks for letting us know. Your posts are always so much fun, informative and just so funny! I love them/you! Aha..a fellow Lady of Woodstock!!! Kate, we probably were gliding down mud-slides together and didn't know it!!! This generation does seem to be very interested in the 1960's..early 1970's. It's fun to talk to younger people and discover that they're feeling things I'm feeling that were given birth in the '60's. Monika, I was thinking a lot about what you wrote about how much we really share about ourselves...and what we don't share. I have been told that I'm a very "open" person...that I share things about myself that other people might not want to share because of fear of judgment from others. I've changed since my enormous losses beginning in 2000...much more reserved...less likely to share anything about myself but will always listen to other people. I just don't remember ever feeling judgmental about what someone tells me or what someone looks like. This, I guess, is how I came into the world and also how I was raised. I think a lot about why it's so important to so many people that they come across as in-style....read the best-sellers...see the "in" movies...and the list goes on. And I wonder why people are so self-possessed....why people put such an emphasis on what a person looks like...the power of beauty. I've spent my entire career and studies trying to understand what makes a person feel a certain way...act a certain way...of course, this is all couched in mental health. I do know this: I've always felt that I was "different"...I did really wild stuff as a kid...young adult...not so much any longer...but I always and still feel I would sort of fit with the "Bloomsbury" groups....the salons...NOT that I have the talent or intellect of those gorgeous people...but I would feel at home. I've been listening to "Miles Of Aisles"...sooooo, what's your favorite cut? Mine? MMMM....I think "Jericho" and when I listen to "The Last Time I Saw Richard" I have to laugh...my wanker was Richard!!!! This isn't a fair question with this Joni album....I just thought of that, because it's a concert. Much love to you, Bo - --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
