She is no longer with us but I always loved that dog and her name. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2007 20:08:38 -0500 From: "Eric Taylor" Subject: SHINE at Borders Today I purchased five SHINE CDs for $54.00 which I plan to give to friends and family as gifts. The sale is going on until Sunday for those who want to save lots of money... Interestingly there was only one copy on the shelf which contained about 50 of Joni's other CDs. I asked the manager if they had more copies of SHINE and he looked around at all the displays, saying "That's strange, we're having a hard time keeping it on the shelves. I know where I can find some." So he went back into the stock room and brought out an unopened box containing lots of new releases, mainly by women artists. In it were about 20 copies of SHINE mismarked at $18.99. Upon my urging the manager said that he would put them on display by the front door at the correct price of $9.99 beside the huge Beetles display. I've often suspected that one reason Joni's albums aren't faster sellers is because record stores and radio stations only highlight the big boys. ALL the ballet photos in the CD insert are magnificent Looking at the credits I seriously wonder if Joni didn't take most of these shots herself? I know that the medicine wheel backdrop is all our Joan and that she co-co-choreographed the ballet but i just realized even more than ever what an INCREDIBLY consummate artist she continues to be.......... It is just SOOOOOOOOO beautiful!!!!!!!!! & totally new i can assure you as a student of ballet & modern dance most of my life Nothing even close to this ***** has ever been attempted before or quite so magnificently! Geez I wish I were more of a snob so that I could think up something much more scathing All I can say is that I am eternally blown away to heaven & back with the Fiddle & Drum ballet & SHINE I just feel extremely lucky to be alive in this age of Joni It's like I'm up a sycamore looking through the leaves ET 'trouble in the heart of all mankind' ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2007 #374 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
