Anyone know what it's from? Who's the host sitting at the table? Also, did anyone notice Joni bungles the chord in the 4th verse at "rev for stride" but recovers quickly and keeps going, giving the host a smile. The other You Tube covers were too painful to watch for me. J ...also in Texas jeannie wrote: Thanks for the links, Laurent. I enjoyed Joni singing, 'Night Ride Home' by the side of the lake. Everything in that frame was as natural as the weather in this moody Texas sky. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Jul 2007 09:48:26 -0400 (EDT) From: "Gerald A. From the comments: This was recorded in Amsterdam (you see the bikes?) not long after the release of the night ride home album. The lucky guy is JanDouwe Kroeske, in those days an important radio guy in the netherlands. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 08 Jul 2007 14:25:51 +0000 From: "Michael O'Malley" Subject: some obscure Joni videos on Youtube Hi there, I was just trolling on the net and came across some diities I had never heard or seen before. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=npxQUftj48E&mode=related&search= Joni singing Goodbye Blue Sky, accompanied by orchestra, from Roger Waters' concert, The Wall http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QGHsjd96dCs&mode=related&search= Blow Away The Morning Dew - in a duet with Oscar Brandt, 1965 As well, here is the Mabel Mercer version of Both Sides Now, which supposedly inspired Joni to revive it in her own repertoire. Mercer's rendition is not *at all* to my taste - she has no voice - but it's an interesting document, I suppose. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_Ufg6aP95A&mode=related&search= Also, some kind soul has reposted the Night Ride Home video - albeit a poor quality copy, but nice to see it up again. Still ranks as one of the best! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aEK9yi3KS4I And here's a little Hejira tribute film with some nice original visuals (thinking of you, Mark!) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_JafvXh4XyE Michael in Quebec NP: Michael Franti, (who's playing in Quebec tonight) - Stay Human _________________________________________________________________ Fight Allergies With Live Search http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=Remedies+For+Spring+Allergies&mkt=en-ca&FORM=SERNEP ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Jul 2007 11:08:22 EDT From: Motitan@aol.com Subject: Re: Joni on You Tube I remember a month or two ago there was a FANTASTIC performance of "Help Me" from right around the C&S period. It was top notch to say the least. I had gone to the library to pick up a few things and take a peek at YouTube and came across it. The next day or so I was going to post it here for you all to enjoy but it had already been taken down. I love it how Joni sings after, "not like we love our freedom" or "not like you love your freedom," "freeeeeeeeeeedom." She only does that live and it sounds amazing. I've never heard of this and I don't have Showtime. After you watch it, could you explain what exactly it is about (I can presume a few things from the title but love details!)...what Joni said...etc etc.? I'm very curious.
