Does anybody know how much time Joni has spent there? Does anybody know if she visited Brazil with Jaco Pastorius' family? I read somewhere in the book, 'Jaco,' (I can't remember the exact name of the title) and there's a part written by his mother. She's an extremely intelligent woman and so torn apart by his untimely death. I feel for her. Sincerely, Jean >>I has asked: >>Does Joni have an affinity to Brasil? Dreaming Dreamland, Jeannie jjj . My father bought my mother a truly beautiful black Afghan hound named 'Sheikh" and he was so special and graceful and somebody found a way to steal him from our backyard, privacy fence and all. I can see why I would compare Joni to our Afghan and that's because he was a mystical dog full of love and beauty. There was a scene where the divorced couple dances to Joni's Both sides now (new version), and if you haven't seen it I can highly recommend it. Another thing altogether: I wonder if anybody on this list remembers a novel by James A Mitchener (from the 70's) that had a Joni-mention. I don't remember the novel at all but I do remember this one paragraph where the main character is driving along some beach and runs into a group of young people in a Volkswagen (a bug, what else:_) and he is captured by the beautiful voice singing on their radio and later learns her name: Joni Mitchell. I cannot for the life of me remember the title of that novel, so if anybody does, I'd be thrilled. I know there is information on Joni in films and books on jonimitchell.com but I haven't found any on Life as a house or the Mitchener novel.
