Similar Joni phrasing yet she brought her own haunting quality to it. what a daunting taks to tackle that particular tune. anyone else have any feedback? also although this is not e-bay did some greedy fan ever grab up one too many copies of Joni's "Voices" Mendel's art book on her show that they want to sell to someone on disability who had to sell his when he was broke or even trade for a mint condition poster of the show with some extra scheckles thrown in?? just asking. randy j ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Apr 2007 15:55:50 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: Mendeld's Gallery book "Joni Mitchell Voices" It's very pretty - it's also 13 years old, originally released on her EP 'Good Enough' in 1994. That's the only thing that ticks me off about the Tribute - too many tracks that are old news. If they were truly greedy, don't you think they would have already ebay'ed it/them for the $300+ that you can get for it? I have my copy but wish now I had picked up a bunch. I love the colors and feel of these songs. It's a theme I see repeated in a few of her songs...the contrast of a black man wearing a ruby earring is awesome. Only Joni could tattoo my mind like that...blood red love and music written all over my head, down the midway...getting down!! Dreaming, dancing with blacktar babies, Jeannie Tired of spam? Yahoo! I was working at a music store then and would always get a bunch of cd's to take home every now and then. One of them was a cd single from that album and one of the tracks was "Blue". I can't believe they're actually using that on this tribute album coming out in 2007. They might as well get Tom Rush and Judy Collins to contribute a couple of tracks.
