Afterwards, he said that was pretty difficult, and then said he started to "think colors, like synesthesia. Then he said, "Does anyone know what that word means?" I was the only one that shouted out "yes", and it was all due to the JMDL discussion here not too long ago. He said, "well, at least there's one Harvard grad here." LOL!! In the early 80's it was tested, calculated and then figured out that a device that would capture images exactly like the human eyes do will be in the size of an olympic stadium. We went to her gallery opening, "green flag song" last Friday. Joni's a bit of a recluse so having her come to this show was a rare treat for her fans. She looked like a typical Brentwood housewife. Dressed in a Miyake blouse paired with jeans, some simple jewelry, and a designer backpack. Wish the pix were better but so goes the cell phone picture phone! Before the mob started to get overwhelming for her, we got a chance to talk briefly with her about her art and the recent win by the Democrats in the elections. She said to Rose, pointing her finger "and did you see Bush sitting there like a little boy next to Nancy Pelosi, he knew he was cooked." She and Rose bantered back and forth a bit, then I asked her about her art. I asked her about her technique with the camera and she dragged me over to one of her pieces to show me some details in the art. I loved it. Then I remarked to her that "the music wasn't too bad either" (her anti-war songs) and she realized it was her music and said, "Sorry, but I've got to go they're playing the wrong music! I wanted them to play the Mills Brothers and Marlene Dietrich". Then she disappeared in the crowd into a back room, and held court back there the rest of the night. If you have a chance to see the show, you must.
