And LOL! "Here's the scoop, Betty Boop"......tee hee....that reminds me of something (idiomatic logic or whatever). In 8th grade my best friend Carolyn Pocatello used to call me Patti Poopah. She lived in my neighborhood off of Patterson Avenue in Goleta/SB. She had the *best* laugh I've ever heard. Does anyone know her out there in this big wide Joni world? She had dark hair and was petite. She would be almost 53 now. Her birthday was in November, I think. Yes! November 18th! (Electric flash Just like lightening striking from above) I would love to find her. She was originally from some Canadian province....maybe it was Saskatchewan or Alberta...I can't remember...that was pre-Joni time for me....(1967 B.J.) Oops! Sorry....I went off in the Santa Barbara clouds there for a minute! MMM again: But...silly lucky girl - you are already two degrees away, having met lots of us who have met, talked with and otherwise exchanged auras with Siquomb directly. - --- Hey, I'm one degree, too! Didn't I ever tell you how I shook her impossibly gentle hand? Yes, siree Bob! It was at the New Haven Coliseum, early seventies. I looked at the appearances list and I'm not sure which date. It was NOT 2/23/76 because I was on the right side. No, at this concert I was on the left, way way in the back. And it can't be the 11/13/75 date because it says Dylan and Baez and others were there, but I do not remember them being there. Unless, of course, I blocked everyone out but Joni (C'est possible? Peut-etre). As I said, I was way in the back. But I was on some kind of mission that night. Slowly, purposefully, step by step, with many many "excuse me"s, by the end of the show, I found myself at the foot of the stage. Joni graciously bent down to shake a few hands. And one of them was mine. ELECTRICITY! ZAPPED! (I'm picturing the Sistine Chapel in the clouds of Michelangelo when God reaches out to create Adam.) O Holy Night. I touched Joni Mitchell! Maybe *that's* when I got JMOCD zapped. Mon ami Alain, the Vancouver visitor who had dinner w/ Joni's friends. I'll let you know if he's going. This guy is a gem. As a matter of fact, he stands out like a ruby! Here's what I sent him: Hey, dumb Lescart! There is a wonderful happening in San Diego this Saturday night. I can't make it. Will you go for me? I will send you money for the ticket. Je ne blague pas! Je suis serieuse. It's a musical and visual tribute to Joni Mitchell for her 63rd birthday. It's at Dizzy's, at the edge of San Diego's East Village. http://www.robinadler.com/calendar.html You should go so you can tell your Joni friends in Vancouver about it next time you see them.....et moi, aussi. Please consider it. Some of my Joni friends are going and I could "introduce" you to some fine people. Joni people are the best. Tu sais bien! You play the guitar. You write poetry. You sculpt. You love art. You would love Joni! She is multi-talented, like you. You would be definitely "feeling groovy" if you went! I promise. Have I ever lied to you?
