Currency is $125 a head ;-) http://www.losangelesballet.org/html/events.htm" So I duly clicked on the link, to see this: Celebrity Auction art to include works by: Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett, Orlando Bloom, Jeff Bridges, Tommy Chong, Leonard Cohen, David Cowles, Tony Curtis, Gil Garcetti, Joel Gray, Buck Henry, Dennis Hopper, Anjelica Huston, Steve Martin, Joni Mitchell, Viggo Mortensen, Martin Mull, Jane Seymour, Richard Schiff, Yoko Ono and more Hey, Musik Meister Muller! You said you were going out to Dave and Robin's Joni birthday bash in SD (you lucky dog eat dog -- have fun!), so how 'bout you stay a little longer (oh won't you stay, just a little bit longer, please please stay) and go to this auction and get me a Joni Mitchell original for Christmas. Hey, honey, you've gots lots of cash. I know you can do it. Pretty please? I have always been nice to you, haven't I? And get a Viggo Mortensen for Ashara. She's been nice to you, too. And a Leonard Cohen for Catherine or Mags, and.....oh, Yoko....... If you're short on Joni currency, I can pay you back. I've got plenty, as you know. As far as time off from work goes, just call in a J-RA. Always works for me! From a friend (it's secondhand): "Hey Patti...do you get VH-1 classics? I saw Joni on there..looked to be from the '70's.....I think it was a whole show they were showing.......I'll try to find out if it's on again and give you a heads up." He wrote back to say it's on at 4:30 p.m. EST today, but I don't see in my newspaper's TV guide section. He said it's a BBC thing. I don't imagine this is something new, but it's probably new for me. I told him I'm really MAD that he didn't call me immediately. He said it was late at night and I told him that that is no excuse. All Joni emergencies/news/mentions must reported immediately, 24/7! Right? Darn right! It's Joni on guitar and piano, and really lovely. I particularly like her renditions of Cactus Tree and Both Sides Now. She introduces California on dulcimer and sings an unfinished version of My Old Man. She's so pretty. Damn. My TV listings indicate that this show will be shown again on November 9 and 10, but you know what? I bet there are some JMDLers that already own this and will share.
