It's not just those Brits and Europeans who are addicted to sand and beach! I am too! Wah! I love them too! I would like to bring Rob and try to make that if possible! My friend, I am leaving my job here with NBA basketball and diving into music full time so if all continues to go well, I may be free and able to attend both the Northeast Jonifest and the Club Med Jonifest as well. That would be so cool! Mylast day at regular work is July 7th! Love, Sherelle Paz wrote: Hello All In my research to find alternate ways to get together with people I love to be with, I came across this place: http://www.clubmed.us/cm/Satellite?c=Page&pagename=ClubMedDev%2FVillage-Welc ome&cid=90000095811 As you can see below it is a great deal as far as a place to gather for a 4-Day weekend. I had been looking for alternate ALL INCLUSIVE places with a performance space to use for the train idea but it proved to be too expensive and exhausting in trying to figure out the logistics to do a Fest sort of gathering on the train with a stop or two. Now that Ashara is planning another Jonifest in the great Northeast the pressure is off for me to find somewhere for us to gather any time soon. I do feel like this would be a great place for us to have a fest/gathering sometime after the 2007 NE Jonifest. I was thinking maybe fall of 2007 or 2008. $100 a day double occupancy is a great deal with premium liquor included. They have a performance space and sound system and we could use at times privately as well as allow other guests to participate in our performances etc. Anyways I thought it would be a nice warm place to go and those damn Brits and Europeans will love the place cause of the great weather and beaches. Anyways I am putting this out there for your comments and thoughts and possible commitments to help in the planning of something and lets PARTY! Below is an email I received from the travel agent Janet (Jaunts with Janet) (kinda sounds like something Smurph would do to someone huh jaunting but I digress). BTW there can be know triple or quad rooms. They can also put us in specfic areas that we requests and reserve gathering space etc.. Anyway please discuss and let me know your thoughts. A lot of people are close enough to drive. Love Paz (a travel nut) P.S. Hey Tex they do have a duck pond so you will be right at home. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 13:51:20 -0400 From: "Cassy" Subject: Hejira Podcast My brother just sent me a wonderful link. After reading this I just had to share it with all of you: http://www.lefsetz.com/wordpress/index.php I'd love to hear what you all think. Warmly, Cassy NP: Absolutely nothing for a change ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2006 18:15:16 +0000 From: "Patti Parlette" Subject: The Great Quotes Battle Oh, Nuri! Why, oh why, did you start this battle? It's a cruel thing to do to a person who *constantly* has Joni quotes running all through her circuits like a heartbeat. Now I have to match them up? Yikes! I'm picturing that old TV game show from the 60s, Concentration, where you had to match up squares to win prizes. What will I win here? A dishwasher? A coffee percolator? A diamond for my throat? A diamond dog? A roomful of Chippendale? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentration_(game_show) I used to watch it with my sweet grandmother in the 60s. Dear Nana. (I wonder what Joni's grandson calls her?) Sorry, I digress. (But why should I feel sorry if you just don't understand the Jonidiomatic logic that goes on in my head? Ha!) Quotes. We were talking about quotes, right? Richard wrote: "Why don't we play Joni Mitchell vs. Joni Mitchell?" YEAH! There ya go! "Love's a repetitious danger." v. "Don't you know that love can be so sweet?" Yes, Our Lady is full of contradictions, but at the same time she never lies. No siree, Bobs Murphy and Muller! Joni Mitchell Never Lies. I have the bumpersticker from Em to prove it! Bumperstickers don't lie, do they? I got to thinking last night (was very late when I walked in) that there is someone else who is full of contradictions, but unlike Joni's, his are all lies. I'm going down down down the dark ladder to George W. Bush and Company. Bush Lies. Another bumpersticker, so it must be true! Oh yeah. Look at all the contradictions HE has splashed on our brows! These occured to me even before David Lahm wrote: "Gee, there ought to be a few George W. Bush quotes out there...." (Aside to David: Sorry about the Oilers. And by the way, those Hurricanes used to be "our" Hartford Whalers.) But never mind those jokers -- back on topic, Bush quotes: "Mission Accomplished." (May 1, 2003) v. All the news we read these days when he says: "We will not leave Iraq until our mission is accomplished." (Ummmm....what *is* the mission these days? The "noble cause?" Oh, yeah. I forgot. Freedom and democracy in Iraq. Les raisons du jour. Well there's a wide wide world of noble causes And lovely landscapes to discover But all I really want right now Is find another president! And vice-president....and secretary of state...and you know...) OR "*I* am the Decider!" v. "That's up to *future* presidents to decide" (talking about when we will get out of Iraq). OR Proudly proclaiming: "I am a *War* president!" v. "No president likes war, Helen." And of course, all the "flip-flops" on Neil's "Let's Impeach the President." Those are so good. Quoth the quoting maven with raven curls: Nevermore, these lies! I'm going down to Ned Lamont's headquarters today to sign up. We are having a primary in CT on August 8 and Lieberman has to go. "It's the war, stupid!!!" Carpe diem, everyone. I have to sign off.....there are two men in in Homeland Security coats at my door, and a Patti Wagon in the driveway. Uh oh! Help me! I love how he hones in on that line in California. I think Joni's ultimate duality is the need for personal freedom vs. the pangs of loneliness. And since Hejira is my favorite album, I loved this segment: "But you should hear these songs. You need to hear these songs. For the human condition is in this record. And youbre human. And if you can just slow down enough to stop trying to avoid the loneliness, "Hejira" will resonate."
