Oh yeah. Compositional genius meets provenance...too bad I was the vessel. It was a rare experience and one I don't think I could have had if I was in the presence of anyone but a few strangers who wanted to sell me something. I too once share the stage with Vladimir Horowitz' piano. At the time I was a director for a program that included a food pantry. The piano was the draw of a fundraiser where several local pianists did a selection and the $$$ and canned goods gathered went to the pantry. I remember introducing the night by saying that I doubted any of my piano teachers would ever have imagined me this close to his piano (they would have been right). Congratulations on having this once in a lifetime opportunity. (That piano's been making the rounds - my event was back in the early eighties.) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 May 2006 10:56:16 -0400 (EDT) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: Places of Joni - --- Cassy wrote: > And if streets count... > [...] > Cotton Avenue, Macon, GA (Don Juan's Reckless > Daughter) > I had no idea there was a *real* Cotton Avenue.
