That way he can find out what the market will bear for that thing. They're spending a lot of money on listing fees with nothing to show for it. In other eBay news, That Voices book did find a buyer for the $325.00 price. I wish I would have had Ashara buy me 10 of them for the $25 price way back when. That book is beating the crap out of my 401K. Bob NP: Lee Dorsey, "Ya Ya" Tired of spam? Yahoo! I just had a great experience. I got to play Vladimir Horowitz' D503 Steinway concert grand. Better yet, I played "Paprika Plains" on it. Oh yeah. Compositional genius meets provenance...too bad I was the vessel. It was a rare experience and one I don't think I could have had if I was in the presence of anyone but a few strangers who wanted to sell me something. The D503 was given to Horowitz in 1934 and has traveled the world with it's former owner. The cabinet shows signs of being transported and reassembled hundreds of times but the inside is clean as a whistle. I thought it played a little bright on the very lowest and highest ends but was SO SO warm in the middle while being equally voiced. The action is not as heavy as I would have imagined. It is at a piano salon in Los Angeles (it's leaving tomorrow, on tour with Van Cliburn's rig), and the salespeople encouraged me to sit down at it. If I had 50 large, I'd have bought a piano just to say thanks. Instead I just said, "thanks!" Then I said, "yes, thank you thank you thank you SO much!" Now I think I'm going to learn Schumann's "Traumerei." Wish I'd done it before today.
