Perhaps the public and listening audience just never had time to catch their breath. Like many others on this list, it was Court & Spark that caused me to buy my first joni album and subsequently discover Joni. But I sure don't overlook FTR,. In fact - I think it may be overall her best album. Not sure if I can think of too many songs on this earth I like better than Lesson In Survival and Woman of Heart and Mind. I also think that Joni's voice during this album was perhaps at its best..... It is (I guess) 'Blue Mark II' which is why it gets overlooked. But to me it's has the emotional vulnerability and openness but it's got more balls. Perhaps some people can't take the ballsyness but got used to it by Court & Spark which is why take takes the award. But it is the meandering dreamy piano intros that she's famous for that feature more in this album than any other. It's her signature style. Perhaps its the cover photo.
