I don't agree with you here though. If there were other years added to the Circle Game, I think it would dilute the song. As the song is now, the focus is on growing up, not growing old. I think it is perfect as it is... like a painting of only one's torso and head could be said to be "incomplete," but it can be for emphasis, to focus the observer on the heart and the mind for example. You make me smile. For that, and since you're such a cool guy, I'll be sure and get you a program or some other such memento from the Tribute. See how susceptible to flattery I am? :-) As to your question, I'm hoping for full-on, high-definition video and maybe a television special on PBS or BBC or Canadian TV...or all three. A CD would seem a natural, too, and a great way to continue raising funds for the cause. But I don't know if any such plans exist in reality. Maybe Les has info gleaned from Michael Dorf, the event producer. My gut feeling is that this event will be produced for official video and live recording, but your guess is as good as mine. Bootlegs are a pretty sure bet, but I certainly won't be wired for sound. This afternoon, I was struck by the resemblance of these lyrics: In 1971, Joni Mitchell wrote, in 'This Flight Tonight':'Oh starbright starbrightYou've got the lovin' that I like all rightTurn this crazy bird aroundI shouldn't have got on this flight tonight' And in 1983, Madonna wrote, in 'Lucky Star' (which provides, by theway, an amusing comment in Snatch!) 'You must be my Lucky StarStarlight, starbright first star I see tonightStarlight, [starbright] make everything all rightStarlight, starbright first star I see tonightStarlight, [starbright] yeah' In 1985, Joni wrote in 'Lucky Girl':'You're my lucky starYou're my magicianYou make the night prowling disappearVanished from the star war bars' Is this striking resemblence just a coincidence? Just luck? (You get alittle lucky and you make a little money!?) Is there some conversationgoing on? Rhyme-stealing? Something like that. In any case, maybe Madonna was thinking of Joni, but, more likely, she was remembering that childhood rhyme.
