Thanks for the tip-- I'll have to check into this! I especially loved Mama Cass' rendition of "Dream a Little Dream of Me", but I must admit, I can't quite imagine her singing pensively about tongues turning blue and other such peaceful poetics as described on "Sisotowbell Lane" .. it's all just so, well, Joni! There was an amazing, particularly profound and curiously extra calm quality to Joni's vocal tone on that song, I've always thought, which I'd almost call dignified (though without being in any way stodgy, it should go without saying)... and "in my mind's ear", I can't seem to hear Cass sounding anything like that, however expressive her voice was in other ways... so I'm all the more curious about how she did sound on it! Hmmm, I wonder how she came to choose that one to cover... This is my first post, fellow Joni devotees, so a hearty "Season's Greetings" to all! Yes, "It's coming on Christmas..."/Yule/Hanukkah, etc... 'tis truly a pleasure to be in such great and goodly company, river or no river-- skates or no skates! ;-) Cheers, Isadora http://www.ladyisadora.com - --------------------------------- Yahoo! What a great question, Jim! I know of none right now, but there will be a new Podcast section on the brand new JoniMitchell.com site which will be unveiled at the begining of 2006. So... I encourage any and all people to contribute their Joni-related Podcasts to the site. The only requirement is that the podcasts have "Joni content". Contact me with questions. It sounds very controlled (but not in a control-freakish sort of way). Hmm. That probably doesn't make much sense. It's meant to be downloaded as an mp3 file so you can load it into your iPod or other mp3 player, or burn it on a CD. So you can listen to it at your leisure. I usually listen to podcasts on the long commute to and from work, and it beats listening to the radio. There are hundreds of podcasts out there on different topics - I was just wondering if there was one devoted to Joni. Podcast = iPod + broadCast .. though it really doesn't require an iPod. - - jim ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2005 #349 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
