What a wonderful concert. She seems a little overwhelmed by the audience appreciation yet, happy to be there. The highlight of the concert is the final song - - The Circle Game when she is joined by Crosby, Stills, Nash AND Young. I remember, in the documentary, Woman of heart and Mind, she said that concert was a turning point for her. She had just released Blue and was working on For The Roses and was feeling particularly vulnerable. She performs songs mostly from those two albums. You can get the BitTorrent here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=51012 Does anyone have video footage of this concert? Kind of your ``best of`` Joni picks, eh? It's such a personal choice, but I'm not so sure about 1-15 DITS. How about, For the Roses? Not on your list, and to me, a must have. I would't pick both versions of BSN. I'd pick the 2000 version of BSN over the Laurel Canyon version. I'd pick the 2000 ACOY as well. Cd 2-6, Man to Man, nah. How about Stange Boy? People's Parties? Court & Spark? Night Ride Home? I would prefer any of these over MTM. From her later work, I would also try to fit in Harlem in Havana somewhere. Have fun ! My philosophy is to turn the uninitiated into purchasers as quickly as possible rather than giving them a free, exhaustive, greatest hits package. In order to "set the hook very deeply", I'd confound her with this: 1. the For the Roses version of "Ludwig's Tune" 2. the RotR version of "Woodstock" 3. BBC version of "California" 4. Hejira version of "Amelia" 5. "Harlem in Havana" As she drives to the shop, I guarantee she'll be muttering something like, "What's this woman all about? Because that would be wrooooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggggggg. I, for one, just had those 20 "Joni Mitchell Never Lies" made up cuz it blew out my ass one day while I was dreaming, and I thought my friends who were sending me underground stuff would like one. No "profit". Not that there's anything wrong with profit, per se, but then you know you gotta get licenses and all. So the business thing is a world away. At least for me. Just felt the (perhaps paranoid?) need to distance myself from commerce. :) Em < Hi Ya'll, > > If anybody open's up a Joni bumper sticker business, I only have > one > request.
