Joni looks as if she is looking toward heaven for divine inspiration while sporting a halo of clouds! And somehow, it's not totally kitch! My new screensaver. Thanks, Judy! - - --Smurf, who sadly thinks the other paintings sorta suck >[now SCJoniBob:] Funny that these are being mentioned - I used the one of Joni looking up into the Clouds as the Cover art for Volume 66, and Paprika Plains is the cover art for Volume 67. They're certainly not anything I'd hang up in my house, but they're somewhat creative, very colorful and feature a good likeness of Joni. At least, a hell of a lot better than: http://cgi.ebay.com/JONI-MITCHELL-FOLK-ROCK-KLEIN-GUITAR-ABSTRACT-PAINTING_W0QQi temZ7325771160QQcategoryZ20135QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem>>> Yeucchhh. No arguments here, although I'm sure the artist meant well. As for the others, with the black backgrounds, I kept hoping he'd done one of Joni with Elvis, Joni with a bullfighter, or Joni with a bunch of dogs playing poker. I would love to hang it with another one a friend of mine suggested a few years ago: "Brady Bunch Descending a Staircase" in the style of Marcel Duchamp. - --Smurf ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Aug 2005 18:17:30 -0700 (PDT) From: Bob Muller Subject: A painting by Joni that's new to me http://cgi.ebay.com/JONI-MITCHELL-signed-Lithograph-14-50-SWIMMERS_W0QQitemZ7535831550QQcategoryZ104950QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem And even autographed by the artiste! Yes, those stories are like crystal clear, photo-realistic paintings. They also work together really well, like a showing in a gallery. Maybe HOSL is tied with Blue for my favorite Joni album. The music is so different from track to track, you can enjoy it twice through. Jim L'Hommedieu Covington, KY, US np: that Madeline P. chick.
