A great LEATHER outfit always got me laid. (However it was in a male leather bar... hmmm... maybe this isn't Queer Eye for the Straight Girl.) But dressed in leather and repeating the mantra 'I am irresistable' couldn't hurt! Or maybe some boots, jeans, chaps and a sexy white blouse with a great cowboy hat... Don't forget the lasso so you can reel 'em in! You're in Texas, girl! Save a horse and ride a Cowboy! Whoo Hoo! I just peeked at the profiles in the gallery and saw two new members who promise some Joni excitement. Soyez le bienvenu, Laurent -- you want to make a film about Joni? Bravo! I'll drink a case of THAT! This list should be an inspiring springboard for you. Bonne chance! And then Warren -- welcome to you, too. I can't wait to see your Tree Museum! (Tree Museum....that's a fond memory I have with an old high school friend....once when her son was very little she had Joni playing, and he asked her: "Mommy, what's a tree museum?" Ah, she was teaching her children well! We always bring up that cute story when reminiscing.) I've missed some of the digests earlier this year. I just picked up the copy the new hard back book "Fearless Women Midlife Portraits" which came out a few days ago. It's a book about women in their middle ages who *don't* begin a downhill slide at 40. It features a brief bio and wonderful photos of 50 women. The photo theme is with each woman using a sword. Joni's photo is WONDERFUL!!! She uses her sword as if it were a guitar! Damn she's beautiful at 60. It has a little bio of Joni and her quote about "What do you hate most about midlife but can laugh about anyway" Joni says: "There is really nothing I hate about things now compared to the things I hated in my twenties. If you have had a full experiential life, if you live each phase of that life to be the fullest, I don't think you get so stuck on this youth kick----you don't want to return there. Our culture has created such a fear of aging. This whole Viagra, facelift rat race-- why do you want that? When you lose your hormones, it should be a time of freedom. " It's a great "coffee table" book with wonderful photographs. There's even another photo of Joni in the begining of the book holding the sword. Some of the other women featured in the book are Melissa Manchester, Stefanie Powers, Laraine Newman, Cybill Shepherd...........wonderful photos! Also..........in the credits of this book for acknowledgements is our very own "Coyote Rick" Hobbs ( & Brad) Jimmy NP "Eminem", which I never thought I'd say! ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2005 #78 ******************************** ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
