One has been part of her set of her current Cabaret show: Just a quick report on last night's Susan Egan concert at Joe's Pub which gave a fine end to our Front & Center concert series for the year. (Stay tuned for some exciting details on 2005 concerts coming soon!). In her sold-out, New York concert debut, Susan showed exactly how she's been lighting up the Broadway stage in shows like Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, Triumph of Love, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and State Fair. On top of that, she showcased several songs from her new CD - Coffee House, which is an eclectic mix of brilliant song choices that if you've yet to hear you should go out and buy immediately. The appreciative crowd at Joe's Pub last night certainly agreed with enthusiastic ovations throughout her 90 minute concert. The set list follows for those that weren't there last night, and we'll have photos up soon from the night as well. Once again, a big 'bravo' to Susan, and her band. Could al of this be true? US Election 2004 80% of all votes in America are counted by only two companies: Diebold and ES&S. There is no federal agency with regulatory authority or oversight of the U.S. voting machine industry. The vice-president of Diebold and the president of ES&S are brothers. The chairman and CEO of Diebold is a major Bush campaign organizer and donor who wrote in 2003 that he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year." 35% of ES&S is owned by Republican Senator Chuck Hagel, who became Senator based o-n votes counted by ES&S machines. Diebold's new touch screen voting machines have no paper trail of any votes. In other words, there is no way to verify that the data coming out of the machine is the same as what was legitimately put in by voters. Diebold also makes ATMs, checkout scanners, and ticket machines, all of which log each transaction and can generate a paper trail. Diebold is based in Ohio and supplies almost all the voting machines there. None of the international election observers were allowed in the polls in Ohio. 30% of all U.S. votes are carried out on unverifiable touch screen voting machines. Bush's Help America Vote Act of 2002 has as its goal to replace all machines with the new electronic touch screen systems. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel owns 35% of ES&S and was caught lying about it ES&S is the largest voting machine manufacturer in the U.S. and counts almost 60% of all U.S. votes. Exit polls for the 2004 elections were accurate within 1% or less in areas where ballot machines were used. Major exit poll data discrepancies were noted in counties where touch screen machines were used, especially in Ohio and Florida. It's great to hear Joni's lyrics through another artist's perspective & style. I understand that there are 5 sets of Joni covers (10 volumes in each) available here on the JMDL. I'd like to make copies of all of them. If you have any of those sets, would you contact me and let me know the best way to get them from you. First, i spied an interveiw in Vanity Fair. Yesterday, she was featured artist on Kink Radio in Portland Oregon, as voted by their listener's. She was voted # 21 most influencial artist of the past 35 years the station's been on the air. i jumped on the Joni-wagon during the Hejira days. Before that i thought her earlier melodies were a little too "up and down", like Lutheran hymns. Has anyone on this list discussed this topic before? Now, i wldn't chg a thing. In celebration of her birthday i bought a much belated, but long awaited copy of "Blue", and took the road back to hear the story straight from the beginning, straight from the heart. ~L ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2004 #328 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
