If anyone could tell me how the "James D" track (first one on the Shadow and Light album) was recorded, i'd love to know. Also, was is it a part of the show, or something that was added to the album release only? Nuriel, I assume that the audio from "Rebel Without A Cause" was dubbed in to the beginning in the studio. It's included in the LP/CD as it was the way the video kicked off. I didn't see this tour (a mjor regret) but I don't think it was featured in the actual live shows in '79. Sounds good to me. Once spent a lovely holiday in the Dordogne Valley area. (A little north of where you are describing I think.) Gorgeous countryside, fantastic weather. Actually, it was also the occasion of the first time I got drunk. Literally woke up in the gutter the next morning, without much of a clue where I was or how I got there! Ah happy days ;0) Anyway, sounds like a fine location to me. And almost next door compared to the usual jaunt. Thanks Suze and Cath for the comments. Sorry I have been absent lately but am up to my ass in alligators. We had the Voodoo Fest in New Orleans this weekend. You can check out some of my audio handy work online at voodoomusicfest.com We were doing audio for video on the Rolling Stone.com stage. We had great sets from; Pleasure Club, Polyphonic Spree, Pixies, Beastie Boys, Green Day, Alter Bridge, Velvet Revolver, and Kid Rock amongst others. I really enjoyed Green Day's set. And James Hall and Pleasure Club have been friends for a long time and love them. Also really liked the Polyphonic Spree set. I kept thinking Jon Anderson would sound great with this band. I am also currently trying to get an air ambulance to Honduras to pick up a 3 yo little boy who was burned over 70% of his body and get him to Boston or Galveston. You would not believe how expensive that is to do. Mary Ann and I have been working around the clock to try and raise some funds and find the cheapest air ambulance. Hope all is well with everyone. My other pazgroup email address is messed up right now buit will be back online by the end of the week. Best to all! Every four years I would like to get excited about either side but as the deadline approaches I recall my disgust from the previous campaigns - the average voter votes because their friends vote, they vote because they personally have a pet peeve personal need and no one votes for the long term.... 9/11 changed everything except the mind of the body politic in the free world... we argue about past wars and performance then...Kerry served for four months as a lieutenant (then and probably still a "networked" opportunity only, George Bush the National Guard ( my brother got in that and we definitely are not of the "networked" variety) BUT ALL GRUNTS DID 9 MONTHS OR MORE ANYWAY IN Viet Nam - does anyone care that this ought in short throw aside that issue as a non-issue since neither really were grunts? Finally Dick Cheney mentions the Iraqi sacrifice in all this - neither party has made a big deal about this and yet this will determine the long term position of that country instead we focus on whether or not it was a right choice - Edwards echoed the clichi - "The only good defense is a good offense" - then attacking terrorism wherever it may have roots is necessary Neither candidate knew that 45% of black women are contracting Aids and Edwards to get the sympathy vote talks about Africa - makes you wonder why the minority will vote at all!? Has anyone investigated the voting records - I haven't and you know that brings the last point - free press - my ass! The press is not promoting anything but whom they personally like - scary thought that news can be engineered so that you get emotional, NOT LOGICAL - but dammit it is biased and isn't calling for substantive reporting, substantive questions and SUBSTANTIVE ANSWERS - they take advantage of the fact that the majority of Americans have little time and rely upon TV sound bites as KNOWLEDGE???? And then the press takes each tidbit it deems important to creating a view but here's my view of my life as an American: My love life is non-existent, I work 55 hours a week , doing okay need about $100,000 to get everything set to serene(who doesn't?) and all the hell I see reported every week both at home and abroad is far from my door, but when I watch that TV I get sickened by the stupidity, by the constant - "there is something wrong with you America" when I don't see that showing the sickness of the rest of the world so as to create a true balanced objective view - hell that would raise the mindset! IN SHORT OVER-SIMPLIFICATION OF THE ISSUES TO REACH THE DUMBEST VOTER INSULTS MY INTELLIGENCE AND FRANKLY DEPRESSES ME THAT THE SLIGHT LEVEL ABOVE THE DUMBEST IS THE LARGER MASS AND THEY HAVEN'T A CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING - WHETHER IT BE TRUE TAXES ((assumption here of 10-20% tax rate) LIKE THE RICH PAY SOMEWHERES AROUND 50 BILLION DOLLARS AND REPRESENT 10% OF THE POPULATION AND THE REST PAY ABOUT $90 BILLION - HOORAY HOORAY LETS MAKE IT EVEN MORE ABSURD AND HAVE EVERYONE POOR AND SOME ASS WIPING LIBERAL RUNNING THE SHOW WITH OTHER ASS WIPING LIBERALS ( INSERT CONSERVATIVE IF YOU LIKE) WHILE THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL MOVE ALONG AND HAVE REAL MONEY POWER) THAT IS THE WAY OF LIFE - THE HAVES VS HAVENOTS - I WILL TAKE ANY HAVE IN THE U.S. OVER ANY HAVE ANYWHERE ELSE - CLUMSY AS THEY CAN BE, THEY HAVE SOME CONSCIENCE - WE LIVE WELL - question is - for how long? We are say 275 million the world 6 billion - the politics of attrition and fool hardy give it all away - what's next? 275 million slaves? Who will I vote for? Would it matter ?
