(and btw, i think it's a common mistake that i read here that the factory guy was also gay - he was not!:::))))) The rich guy got so obsessed with it, that he left his fancy house, and secretly rented a small 2-rooms flat near the factory with a window facing the street leading to the factory, so he could watch the other guy every day, twice - when he came to the factory early in the morning, and we he left it in the evening. We start to dance And laugh until we blast Then she knocks at our door And she starts complaining 'bout her husband and us And she tells me I'm her trouble And she tells me I'm a worthless piece of ass She thought her son would bring her papers From the city hall Till she found out he's gay, what a mess Oh yes, my mother in law Keeping away my happiness But when she's gone Sun starts to shine and there's no more rain The world seems lovely well, at least till she calls again My mother in law She's a middle-classed old witch She's the snake inside our garden She's my nervous-system itch She's still waiting for that bloody piece of paper From the city hall Gay or not, she couldn't care less Oh no, it's my mother in law again Would someone please keep her away from me? When I read Patti's missive about Joni and high school, I just wanted to say that my youngest son came home from high school the other day, and said they read Joni's "Woodstock" in English class while studying poetry, and he didn't even have a scowl on his face while mentioning it!! He added that his teacher then played the CSN version because he liked it better. A friend of mine, Yoav, who's the only other Joni-maniac i know in our town, was here today and we played a cdr he burned (random Joni songs, nothing to do with the album mentioned above) with Lakota in it. So. I'm listening to this song that i've heard like zillion times before - and it's not the same version as in CMIARS at all. There's a total diferent take of Joni's lead voice, not the take that got released on CMIARS, and no doubt all other chanells have been remixed. What is this? Is this the version that's on TBOS? Are there other songs on TBOS that are not the same versions as in the original albums and got remixed? Hi Pat, i checked out your page and it works well even on my parents old, slow PC. I really like that b & w picture of young joni on the homepage. The only thing that is not great (cos i did love it!) is that teh font on the first page is very similar in colour to the great bg picture you're using and it can be hard to read. Your site reminds me of the way the internet used to be when i started using it all those years ago:-) Fans put up sites that they actually built themselves. It was always a joy to search for hours on topics of interest and find fan sites like this - topics of new interest would unravel slowly; i would learn different things from different people; see different sides of passion for the artist; and meet interesting people by emailing the webmaster. Now it is not so common. I always seem to find only official sites, product geared sites, and other very commercial sites that are overloaded with fancy graphics and slick production that are not necessarily easy to navigate (oki - massive generalisation i realise). Anyway, well done. I like it.
