Just stopping in for a minute to check in. We are boarding up the house and getting everything ready to pack up and head west. Plan A is to go as far as Baton Rouge (which is a little north and west) to stay with friends, but we may go on to Houston depending on what we are advised to do by the authorities. It looks like it is going in somewhere between Biloxi and Pensacola which could still effect us very badly here. For those of you who have been to my house and know that it is water front property occasionally anyways we definitely have to geaux. I will try and check in once we are safe and let you guys know what's up. My best to everybody and good wishes and prayers to all who are in the path of this monster. Notaro" Subject: Tracks One of the advantages of being a librarian is you get sent a lot of new magazines. One I just received is truly wonderful: Tracks, about the recording industry. I was so happy to see at the front a full page color ad for TBOS, paid for by Borders. Lots of great articles, columns, reviews, and, a rarity of late, great photographs. Of course, it is too good to last, but you can get a full year with a cd sent with every issue for only 19.95, or a full year with one cd for 9.95. It's a bargain for such rare quality. Well...I certainly don't think Clown is one of Joni's best....I guess the purpose of including it on this CD is to "inform" the public (that is, the "general public," at whom this CD is apparently aimed) that Joni's catalog includes light-hearted, upbeat songs as well as lengthy, wordy, impressionistic, moody, jazzy pieces. I don't know that I would have chosen to make that point with this song....but I, among a few, have always enjoyed Clown at least. Hardly wretched...but certainly not truly among the best. I have lots of calls from many wonderful JMDL folk amongst other family and friends. I spent the evening transferring fest songs into the computer for final editing and I am pleased to announce that I am up to the fab five from England's final Sunday night set, so very little more to do then I will start editing which will be really quick. Then I will fire mine off to Les for his input on who might have the best quality audio (some of my songs only have one track but I will fix that in my mix). Anyways it cheered me up to hear so many great sets tonight's including Honduran princess Kay Ashley, Suze, Barbara, Rachel w/ F-Troop Plus, Amy, Guzzi, and SugarDepends. Tomorrow morning we hit the evacuation highway west and north to Baton Rouge. I will be thinking of you all whilst they try to wash us away. See ya'll on the other side. Love Paz (oh feck just call me Animal) NP-The Weather Channel of course. ------------------------------ End of onlyJMDL Digest V2004 #264 ********************************* ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:onlyjoni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
