They had numbers on them, #1, #2, etc. At least a couple of times one was offered on ebay. There was talk that more of her guitars would be sold, but didn't happen to my knowledge. A Mellotron allegedly belonging to her was on ebay, too. Then a few weeks later, they put up one or two, but just one at a time. Anita bought one of Joni's guitars and brought it to the JMDL reunion in the Catskills (JoniFest 2003). It was interesting the way everyone asked permission to touch it. I felt strange asking, but hey, I had to too. Anyway, on the last night (last year) Anita played one song, then called for the guitar. Slowly (and loudly of course) Paz brought it down the center aisle, holding it out like the holy article it is, while everyone cheered. Me? I genuflected through laughter. Great times. Sounded like she'd been recorded in the studio without the accompanying instrument (whatever it was) coming through. Like she's singing with headphones on and can hear stuff we can't. Like the instrumental track is not there. Em - --- Doug wrote: > I agree completely, Ric. She wasn't that bad. Speaking personally, I stand by what I said - I thought it was an awful rendition. But comparing it to a Jonifest performance is not the same thing in my book. Do I applaud everyone who gets on stage at Jonifest? Damn right - they've got more guts than I do, and they're enjoying themselves. If the woman on this site was at Jonifest, she'd get my applause just like everyone else - whether I liked her performance or not. There's no "hypocrisy" and I feel a little annoyed being labelled as such. Good on this woman for doing what she loves, and having pride in herself - enough to post these things on a website, at the very least. But I still don't have to like it - any more than I like Elton John or Elvis Costello, or even some of Joni's early helium stuff. Jonifest is about supporting my friends, not playing amateur music critic. This woman is offering her music to the world (via a website) so I think I'm entitled to an opinion.
