New job, busy life, etc. Cool thing about new job is that I was able to afford an iPod. This has been the best investment ever...well, almost. Anyway, I was cruising the iTunes music store and noticed that Hejira is featured at the bottom of the page in the "Staff Picks" area. This is pretty cool. This is pretty cool. Hi Sue (or anyone) what's your general impression of the music offered in the iTunes store?? I can't look because I'm still in OS 9.2 and the iTunes upgrade needed to get the iTunes store stuff requires OSX, which I'm not doing. (yet) Anyway, do they offer much "alternative" stuff? Like indie label stuff? Would love an iPod myself, a guy let me play w/his the other day and it was sooooo cool! Had some Joni on it too! So, I use the old iTunes for the radio feature and as an mp3 player, but the iTunes store remains a mystery to me. Was just wanting to get your's or anyone else's feedback on the selection of stuff available, if you feel like addressing that. Thanks and congrats on the nice new toy! Em ===== ........... Herman. No, just kidding...it's titled "Joni in Germany 1968, but I didn't hear anything that enforces that point. Half of the disc is Joni's set: Marcie Nathan La Franeer Dr. Junk Roses Blue Circle Game/Little Green medley I Don't Know Where I Stand Go Tell The Drummer Man Michael From Mountains And the other half is Geoff Muldaur, who is definitely in front of a German audience because he says he doesn't know any German and will speak in English. Regardless of the venue & date, I do know that it's new to me and it's also FABULOUS quality, a pleasure to listen to. Someone probably said this at the time but I thought I'd weigh in anyway. I'm skeptical about the location too but I guess we may never know for sure. The complete title is "Joni Mitchell / Geoff Muldaur 1968 Germany (separate sets)". She was playing in England in September of 68 so Germany wasn't far away. On the other hand I noticed the audience was already familiar with Circle Game. No definite clues either way. Back to the Roses Blue story. A few weeks ago when I was at the Ottawa Public Library looking at the local newspapers from 1968 on microfilm, I came across a story on the local Wiccan scene. I just glanced at it while it rolled by. Unfortunately I didn't note the date and page number. I don't know if I'm up for searching for it again, my eyes haven't recovered yet from the last time.
