From reading lots of e-mails here, i get the feeling that most of us (but not myself) - do believe that Joni will release a new album. I need to know - is this based on something she said or on your high hopes? So, if you believe that she will - please explain. And if you think (or know) that she won't - i wanna know your feelings towards it. Love, Nuriel Yahoo! Karrin Allyson also recorded Blue Motel Room recently. Karrin Allyson's next CD, "Wild For You," is a salute to singer-songwriters. The disc, due in June, features tunes written by and/or associated with Joni Mitchell ("Help Me" and "All I Want"), Roberta Flack ("The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Feel Like Makin' Love"), Bonnie Raitt (the title track), James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Melissa Manchester and Elton John, among others. Bryan Comment: As far as I know, I had never heard of Karrin Allyson before Friday. At the newspaper where I work, while inputting events for our entertainment calendar, one notice I came to was from Wilmington, Delaware's, The Grand Opera House, where a concert by Karrin and a gentleman (whose name is also unfamiliar and I don't recall now) is coming up. I just went to TGOH's Web site, and that concert hasn't been posted to it, so, I can't name either the date or the other artist on the bill. He is a record producer as well as a performing musician, and the genres they represent between them are blues, jazz and rhythm-and-blues, according to the release from TGOH. What is wrong with me, Steven? :) Art shmart - thank's a lot, dear Joni, we all love your paintings. Will she release another album, for Klein's sakes? And mind you, lots of great minds through history, had this quiting "mania", some of them are Joni's idols. Didn't she say it herslef? Why is everybody so sure that her next album is just a matter of time? This is what i don't understand. As for me - i'm sure she's had enough of it all, and her last album is very much a closure. Wait a few years from now, my dear, and you'll need a fresh breath of laughing gas from a blaoon when you think of her. And as for the "fingers" part of the subject - could someone please explain to me how on earth can Joni paint so much, but claim she can't play? Does she have a spare set of fingers? Love, Nuriel Steven Blue wrote: Laughing extremely loudly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see your mail back in my inbox, Owen. Keep 'em coming. I love all the fish imagery, I guess I never made that connection. There is so much context and subcontext on that record, it could be a college course all by itself. "I Don't Want To Work, >Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day" ". which was written by todd! i have a funny story about that song. todd always mocks it in concerts, because after writing so many great smart songs, that one is his biggest hit and it's just a stupid song. (well 'hello, it's me' 'i saw the light' and 'can we still be friends' were pretty big hits) when he does it in concert he invites people up on stage and they bang shit around. well he was on one of those ringo starr all-stars tours, and when he had his moment and they were doing that song, out of the wings comes joe walsh with bunny ears and a giant drum with 'everready' on it. brought down the house! patrick, who has really loved todd rundgren's music for a long long time. >> Hey, Patrick, Good to hear from another Todd (and Joni) fan. In his latest shows, Todd usually does the "Bang the Drum" to his schtick about living in Hawaii now and learning a famous war chant which, of course, is...
