I've had similar problems at times with some other DVDs but this S&L is the worst curprit; anyone else find this a common occurance? Just curious. Maybe it's not called Boxing Day, so where else in the world is Dec. 26 a stat holiday? NP - Mandy Moore's cover of "Help me" from her "Coverage" album. My opinion? Not bad, but not terribly inspired. Stays fairly close to the original in its arrangement. Moore has a decent voice, but nothing particularly special, IMO. Maybe she needs to mature a little? Needs to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous romance, or something. Her singing is too pop-py for this woman's taste. Do they actually teach people to sing like that? with the overdone and not-from-the-heart melissma (sp?) that's supposed to pass for emotion of some kind. ===== Catherine Toronto - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all live so close to that line, and so far from satisfaction ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Dec 2003 18:45:56 +0100 (CET) From: Alex Oudshoorn Subject: Perma-vines and trading Hi all, I really feel like sharing my Joni Mitchell unofficial recordings/bootlegs with other people who appreciate her music. Since that is mostly the way I got them in the first place. I prefer to start some perma-vine trees that will manage themselves further on. I don't know if there are any "official" rules for these perma-vines. Please let me know. Ofcourse I am as much interested in enlarging my own Joni Mitchell collection and I hope to reach some people who willing to trade or vine recorings. I live in the Netherlands and it's no problem if you live outside my country. Please contract me if you are interested. I trust everyone had a joyful Yule. Donna B and I had a great JoniFest here in Houston on Tuesday night. Donna you are the business - hostess with the mostest. Thanks so-o-o-o much Donna for being one of the reasons the JMDL is what it is - awesome - what a community we have here. Sat strumming Joni till 4am and watched JoniFest 2003 to boot - I've definitely gotta be there next year!! Top 5 albums of the moment? - well 4 of them anyway; WTRF DED CMIARS & NRH Never thought I'd hear myself say that! Yes, Santa brought Willy the Shake the you know what - The Geffen Box Set. Great to read Joni's comments and hear her version of Bob's 'Baby Blue'. The two demos are a tad disappointing but what the heck.
