I'd love to be able to listen to PWWAM and other DVDs and not just watching them. Thanks and Happy Holidays. First, many many thanks for starting this on list: I'm awfully short of time these days, so I haven't been able to post on list about this project (you know, I intended to make it clear, choosing words etc...) But you did it masterly! Of course the main interest is trying to involve all of you, so the resulting compilation would be the fruit of a work of love from each and everyone (well, not necessarily) people in this wonderful list. Maybe some of you are a little tired of making lists, but there's some of us who likes to play: choosing songs (with exact recording dates, etc, even photographs and letter fonts to the artwork, etc) There's something, though, that I'd like to add: I was thinking about not only weeding here, but also to make an [acousticharmonies] compilation. This list, that I know through Wonderful Mr Paz, is a very interesting one: aimed not only for weeding shows, but with a lot of interest: talking about music... with sections like SingerSongwriter of the week, Album of the week, etc. Through its year and a month of existence, there have been made some compilations (you could go to the next link, open to everybody, not only for members, and sustained by my italian friend Marco: http://www.mysongbook.org/ah/ah.htm) As you can see, there are Richard Thompson, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne... but no Joni! That's why I thought of arranging an [acousticharmonies] compilation of our SIQUOMB. There's much interest in this list (AH) about Joni's recordings, so I think it will be very well received. I only know, by now, the two last volumes, the ones being made after I joined the AH list, but I find them really rapturing. The compilation made some weeks ago by our Cover King: Joni Mitchell - Off The Record surely is of highest interest, but I even dare to say it would be interesting too compiling a couple of discs with songs performed live (unreleased officially in those exact dates) : ie: songs known in her official albums, yes, but with another version. Do you know what I mean? Something like the Jackson Browne's one. Well, of course we could arrange two [acousticharmonies] compilation double albums! One double for the unreleased songs (this is already made: Bob's Off The Record), and another double set with the other material. Of course this will be of lesser interest for us, at least for the nut completists who are already gathering all her live stuff, but I'd love to have (and even make) this compilation, too. Don't you? Please don't let me alone in this, if so, it's in danger of including that Rainy Night House/Blue Boy over and over again :-) Well, I know it's Chistmastime but we're in nooo hurry. Have a Wonderful time! Emiliano NP: Both Sides Now, by Terry Dynam (it's a carol, this one?): Many thanks, Bob! Michael says: > Hi Gang- > It's project time again!! There were some MP3's I downloaded from audio galaxy before they put a stop on it (why did they do that? I actually bought loads of CD's from artists I first heard from Audiogalaxy?!), any way I don't have them anymore coz my Mum wiped the whole computer (why I don't know!) but the point is they were really good early live songs. One was "Eastern Rain" and the other was "Brandy Eyes"! Really beautiful! I've subsequently heard other live versions which I don't think sound as good! Anywho I think if you could identify these they would certainly be worthy for this compilation! I think they were performed at the same gig. Oh also almost any song from THOSL Demos. You're absolutely right!: Brandy Eyes and Eastern Rain are fantastic! You don't have the Second Fret Sets? Maybe the versions you had were from this recording: it's a real must have, very enjoyable, with good sound. please, what do you mean by "other live versions"? Of these same songs? Eastern Rain appears twice in the Second Fret Sets, and also in The White Swan, Leicester, but I only have one version of Brandy Eyes. As these two are unreleased songs, they appear too in the compilation made by Bob, naturally! Have a Wonderful time! The ones I heard were much clearer and a better performance I think. "Brandy Eyes" has got a nice rhythm to it and "Eastern Rain" could have easily fit on STAS. * * * * * * Stephen T "I get the urge for going But I never seem to go" - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Emiliano" To: "amelio747" ; "Joni List" Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 8:33 PM Subject: Re: Joni Compilation > Hi, Stephen! > > You're absolutely right!: Brandy Eyes and Eastern Rain are fantastic! > You don't have the Second Fret Sets?
