I did not see either one of your names in that article, BUT THIS: An obsessed fan that camped outside her L.A. house for five years. Joni had to write the parents....or have the parents intervene for her. Then after five years he just quit showing up? NO longer obsessed? WHERE IS HE? I love the pictures from the article...especially the first one...her sitting amongst her paints. Does this woman age? (1985...this could have been taken yesterday) Oh...I love the one where she is holding her guitar, beret on, and the women looking in the bathroom mirror....like she is completely oblivious to Joni Mitchell standing there holding her guitar. IF anyone knows the source of this....please let me know? Bonnie admirer camp, also Bree >I did a search of the JMDL database for articles that mention Bonnie and >there are 20. The 11th doesn't seem to be a very auspicious time of the month for me. I lost my partner of 9 years, my beloved Edward on February 11, of 1993. I have vivid memories of driving to work in the months prior to that listening to Joni singing 'Turning and turning within the widening gyre/the falcon cannot hear the falconer/Things fall apart/The center cannot hold'. Cul's description of the eagle reminded me of it again. And there is my own story about an eagle that I posted a few months ago. 9/11 is still too fresh in my memory for me to want to turn on the television and see the images play themselves out again. I can only try to imagine what those who were directly affected by this horror must be feeling. I wish healing and hope for all of you. You are not alone, Cul, as Sharon has already told you. The days before and after May 28th, 2000 were a multi-day JMDL event that culminated in a fundraising concert by wonderfully talented musicians from Schenectady to New Orleans. They all chimed in to make some money for the Ruth Paz Foundation's work to provide burn relief to poor kids in San Pedro, Sula, Honduras. Luckily for us, their support involved a musical salute to Joni! The concert and JoniFest in New Orleans: http://www.jmdl.com/jonifest/jfno2000.cfm The Ruth Paz Foundation: http://www.honduras.com/ruthpaz/ You like chick singers? Check out Susan Cowsill. You want to hear a monster play a Greek hybrid of guitar and mandolin called a bouzouki? Check out Beth Patterson. You want a wildly inventive, rip-snorting, fun, and tasty spin on Joni? Check out the headliners, the Bryan Thomas Band. Those of us who were there will never, ever forget it. Those of us who weren't there have a chance to catch a whiff of the excitement. Now. "PazFest", a 2 CD set, is available by mail. Catch it while you can. If you live in the USA or Canada, the cost is $30 in US dollars. This includes shipping by Priority Mail. (Outside the US, the total is $35 US dollars, and includes shipping). But the real reason to donate is to help children with life-threatening burns who really need it.
