Also can't begin to understand why Joan Armatrading hasn't received the respect she should be due - I don't think this woman has ever done anything that wasn't worth listening to. ===== Catherine Toronto ______________________________________________________________________ Post your ad for free now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 16:34:58 -0700 From: "Bree Mcdonough" Subject: Re: Paprika Plains > > I've been listening to Paprika Plains a lot lately > > and enjoying it more > > than I did previously. I did hear Joni say in an interview that people DO NOT have the attention spans for long pieces. I don't if she was specifically referring to PP. Does anybody have any idea why Joni has not > returned to this type of work, i.e. long, poetic, instrumental, > impressionistic? I don't know if you saw her during her last tour; some of the new stuff she was working on, like Ludwigs Tune seem to be a little more experimental-and longer- than the BSN tunes. Paprika Plains was built around a long piano improvisation she did when she was really in the groove musically. It would be nice to hear her do more of that kind of thing, but I guess she goes wherever the muse leads. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 22:31:09 -0700 From: "gene mock" Subject: fess up!
