It seems like a mix of fact and fiction (most songs do I guess) But this one seems as though it must be about one particular person. And who the heck is Josephine and why can't he live without her?? I've been enjoying this song alot lately and would love some feed back. Oh and Bob, how could I ever obtain a copy of the "James and Joni" gig that was mentioned a few days ago...it sounds amazing. Thanks! It is a collection of songs loking back on his life. JT has tapped into Dave Grusin's usual suspects ,Pizzarelli,Brecker,Goldings with also Ry Cooder,M.Han Liebert. I listened to the CD three times over before singing along with Diana Krall on her latest CD. Listening To JT last night brought back distant memories of seeing JT at Chicago's famous Theatre in the Auditorium Bulding designed By Louis Sullivan I think in 1972-3 most importantly was that Carly was there and sang her A/B side hit of the moment at the end of the concert. It all makes the Triangle of JM,CS and JT very interesting, great plot for a movie since Hippie Fashion are all "coming around again" Brian NP JT: Mean Old Man "Taylor gone Broadway!" - -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 23:12:15 -0700 From: "flopit" Subject: RE: do CD Burners Die??? hi anne >>>>>>>>>>>I'm having problems writing CDs with my CD burner all of a sudden. I did just open a new batch of blanks ............<<<<<<<<<<<< im not sure if you had any response to this query... i have to ask what make of cd burner you have. some makes (esp Aopen brand) are extremely sensitive to factors such as the type of disc (some will just not write to silver discs no matter what you do), or to any changes in the setup of your computer, operating system, or hardware. after changing my computer, but still retaining my same operating system, copying software, and cd burner, i had to change all the settings and software to get my burner to work again. so - questions are: what type of burner? what operating system/copying software? any changes to your computer? what errors are you getting? any error messages?? ron np - patty larkin-coming up for air (why oh why did it take me so long to find this music its just so beautiful i cant believe it.....) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 17:49:33 -0400 From: SCJoniGuy@aol.com Subject: Re: The Gallery/Copies of Joni-JT cd > Oh and Bob, how could I ever obtain a copy of the "James > and Joni" gig that > was mentioned a few days ago...it sounds amazing. Yeah, it pretty much is...it's the one that hooked me way back when into going "On Beyond Z" in collecting Joni. I'm happy to make copies of this disc for blanks & postage or costs for same. Obviously it's more economical (postage wise) to do a couple instead of just one, so if you indeed want to take the plunge, here's what I would recommend to you: 1. Joni & James Taylor, Live 1970 2. The Hissing Demos (some early recordings of most of the songs Joni recorded on that project, along with some surprises) 3. The Gene Autry show (an FM broadcast, Joni unplugged in an amazingly good performance from '94) 4. "A Day In The Garden", Joni's 8/15 performance at Woodstock, from the soundboard and again Joni's in a wonderful mood and sounds great. Of course there's a lot more, but these are all collections that every self-respecting Joni fan should have. Just send blank CD's (any kind will do) and return postage to: Bob Muller 309 West Prentiss Ave. Greenville, SC 29605 If that's too much trouble, then just send $3/cd to cover all costs for media/packaging/postage to the same address. If all you want is one CD, that's OK too. Just be sure and communicate clearly to me what you want, I can turn these around pretty quickly, and hopefully some people on the list can vouch for me! ;~) Also, I do have a Paypal account so you can just e-mail the payment (if you're going that route) and save the 37 cent stamp. If you don't have a Paypal account and want one (it doesn't cost you anything and is totally secure), let me know & I can "sponsor" you and get a little bonus for doing so. Please realize this is very much a NON-PROFIT process for me. I'm just trying to share the stuff that has been shared with me & have the resources to do so. I'm catching up on posts and noticed Kate mentioned Nash's recording of Doug Ingoldsby's "I'll Be There For you" which is such a gorgeous song. (And Kate I'm wracking my brain because I have heard this song before a few times and I can't remember where, but I loved it immediately!) I would love the next time we all get together to do a singalong to it. It is so beautiful. I'm have been holding back some exciting news because I'm so freaking ecstatic about it. Our Darice called up her buds at the Guacamole Fund and got us two front row, backstage tix (out of only six available) for the Nash show at House of Blues Oct. 2nd. AHHHHH!! If any of the SoCal (or any other JMDL'ers) want to join us that night, please let me know. It would be so great to get together. > Hoping you have a last minute change of plans and > will be jetting east next week. ;-( If only I could turbo transport in!
