1973: Rolling Stone's Random Notes page noted a few weeks after the fact: "It was quite a treat for the fortunate few who squeezed in: Joni, Neil Young, and the Eagles performed two shows tonight and tomorrow night at the Topanga Canyon Corral, a tiny club in the L.A. canyon.  Admission was $4, all for the benefit of an anti-condominium movement in Topanga."


 
1979: Joni performs at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, a suburb of Detroit.

On her right hand (strumming hand) Yes! On the left, I'm not positive, but I think they must be kept reasonably short. Long nails on the fretting hand makes playing difficult.

See above for left hand nails.
The long nails on her right hand are an integral part of her playing style and her acoustic guitar sound. All the "clicks" and "slaps" she uses when playing acoustic work best with good length nails. Also, the attack you get when you play the strings with nails is an important part of her sound. Using the fleshy part of the fingers wouldn't sound the same. You get extra "bite" when playing with nails.

Subject: GetMusic videos & WtS where are you?

A while ago, Willy the Shake (WtS) posted a link to a
site called www.getmusic.com where you can see some of
Joni's music videos. I had saved this e-mail because I
didn't have time to look at the videos at the time &
have just gotten round to it now - almost a year
later. I thought I'd re-post the site for anyone who
would like to see some of Joni's videos.

By the way, has anyone heard from WtS lately? His
voice is strangely absent.
