It was a pleasure to read! I don't think kids are much more different today than they were back when I was a kid. I've witnessed some pretty cruel things myself as a kid. I've even done a few things that I'm not proud of. I think it is just human nature to "test the waters". The scientific method is what makes kids grow and learn. The big difference that I do see today is the lack of discipline. I really think the kids today are begging for it, they require it to become fully functional human beings in a civil society and most adults are too scared, don't care, or just too darn tired today to deal with it. So the kids just keep pushing the envelope even further.
