And when do we > leave? ;-) Well, next year would be better in terms of finance, and I think a house would be better than a condo - the neighbours wouldn't be quite so close! But if this does eventuate, I'll be making every effort to attend, since it will probably cost me 1/2 as much as the mainland US. Of course, it will cost everyone else double or triple, but it would be a small price to pay for my happiness, don't you think ;o) ?! I was just writing to a couple others about this ;-) We're thinking maybe sometime next (Northern Hemisphere) winter when people are craving the sun. If you plan it right, Hawaii is pretty inexpensive to fly to from just about anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. I've made a new vow to go at least once a year like I used to do. A house would be great, but there are also some condo buildings on the beach where you can rent out practically the whole place ;-) very cheaply so more people can be accomodated and we needn't worry about bothering anyone. It also might be attractive for those who want to bring along the family or significant others (and help sweeten the idea of going away to a jmdl gathering ;-D I guarantee it would be a fantastic place for us to get together. Kakki NP: Summer Dreaming - Cecilio and Kapono ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2001 21:45:58 -0800 (PST) From: Jane Subject: new list member, Kammy Hey y'all Another lurker compelled to speak up. Here I am in Birmingham AL where I cannot recall having met anyone in the past ten years who loves Joni's music, and in the space of one day/two digests, out of cyberspace appear two fellow listers from my town! How cool is that?! Are there any more out there? We'll have a mini-Joni fest here at this rate. Something tells me these stifling suburbs just aren't the place to meet such kindred spirits... I have mostly lurked, but have always enjoyed this intelligent, witty and knowledgeable group of folks that make up the JMDL. I enjoy all sorts of music, and have explored many new (to me) artists suggested by the eclectic tastes of the JMDL. I am at the moment trying to get into Jonatha. She's growing on me, I must admit. In addition, I regularly listen to Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, Jackson Browne, Shawn Colvin, Martin Sexton, U2, John Gorka, and I could go on. Nice to meet all of you!
