Many of the versions known to us cover hounds are not listed which presumably means that Joni is not getting performance royalties from those versions. The publisher should fix that. We rehearsed Joni's "Cherokee Louise" (the lone cover tune) and it sounded so damn good that one of the guys said, "Man, it sucks when the cover tune is better than the originals." To which I replied, "No, no ... it's *great* when the originals are as good as the cover!" And they are.
