First of all, we apologize! Second, consider yourself lucky. Perhaps you have heard of Regis Philbin and "Millionaire" show (the American version of the British original). Regis also does a morning talk show in the the States with Kathie Lee. And as you can surmise, Kathie Lee is a singer (at least, she is convinced of that). Can you imagine an over-animated, self-indulgent, medium-talent singer that would really not do well as a lounge singer if she were not well known (at least in the States)? That would be Kathie Lee. She is funny, but I don't think in the way she intends. But I would NEVER buy her CD . . . any CD . . . I mute the television sound when she is singing. Where two or more jmdlers are gathered, there will always be a party ;-) The boys (Croz, Jackson, Nash, et al.) and the girls (Bonnie, et al.) have done a few benefits at the Santa Monica Civic in recent years. The last I recall was for Nicolette Larson. And the "Guacamole Fund" is, I believe, Croz's charity foundation. Along the lines of Paul Newman, Croz's wife Jan is selling her special recipe guacamole in some markets here, with some of the profits going to the fund. Now the question is will Joni show up? She hasn't seemed to want to hang with that gang in recent years. I'm sorry to bring this up but, guessing at her perspective, I wouldn't be surprised if JB's participation in these group benefits in recent years had something to do with it. But the fact that this is for Fred Walecki, (who seems to be very beloved by all of them, including Joni) maybe there is a chance she would consider it. Bury the "hatchet" (if only momentarily) for a good cause and all. I hope so. Any L.A. audience would love to see her there and she would help the cause greatly by putting her name on the list. No, no, no, no, no!! I seriously had a physical sensation of revulsion when I read this much more than hearing she's doing a Joni tune. Everyone on earth does Joni and the good part is we get to add a number of the noteworthy to the cheese discs that Bob is spinning and I can live with it. But Van Man?! ARGHHHHHHH! NO! I got this in the mail today and thought I would pass it on to you. Paz A son and his father were walking in the mountains. Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are you?" Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer: "Coward!" He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!" Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life. Life will give you back everything you have given to it. YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
