Not normally a big country music fan, I still think Wynonna should have performed THAT song on Joni's show. (k.d.? No Style,No Shoes-No Singing) It's great to hear how everyone has their own take on each performer. I thought Dianna Krall's performance was the highlight of the show and Richard Thompson hurt my ears. Hearing differing opinions made me take a second look. (though I haven't changed my mind yet...) : > ) It was great to see our Joni get all that attention. Vicki n.p. Secondly, if you love to read about Joni & saving money & have web access, both JoniMitchell.com and JMDL.com are GREAT GREAT GREAT resources. Lots of articles, reviews, pictures, veritable Joni treasure chests! And if you are like me and like to curl up on the sofa with print, you can't go wrong with Stacy Luftig's "Joni Mitchell Companion". I soaked up every word, it's a collection of articles & interviews presented chronologically so you get a real feel for Joni's artistic progression. 4 stars from me!! Looking forward to hearing more from you! This week alone I laid down 15 more songs for Volume 3, the CD's just about full! For those of you scoring at home, here's how it shapes up thus far: 1. Tom Rush, "Tin Angel" 2. Tom Rush, "Urge For Going" 3. Tom Rush, "The Circle Game" 4. Frank Sinatra, "BSN" 5. Rod Taylor, "Making A Way" (Joni contributes a very pretty and obvious "Joni-vocal" on this one - still unsure if this is the same "Birds" dude...) 6. David Crosby, "Yvette In English" 7. Amy Grant, "BYT" 8. Mary Black, "Urge For Going" 9. Natalie Cole, "BSN" 10. Richard Dworski, "The Circle Game" 11. Eric Anderson, "Blue River" (Joni vocal) 12. Neil Diamond, "BSN" 13. Richard Dworski, "Woodstock" 14. Carole King, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" (Joni vocal) 15. Phil Mattson & The P.M. Singers, "Night In The City" And more coming in! (Adrienne Barbeau, where are you? :~D) My repeated thanks to all JMDL'ers contributing to this ongoing project... Jericho would be one of the PERFECT songs for one of these tributes, as it is such a brilliant song all the way 'round...Christina Wheeler gives it a nice turn on the Joni's Jazz concert. ( thinking of Rosie in her bed is not an image I want to have ) I was watching for Joni's expression when she uttered that most stupid comment and thought that Joni didn't pay attention to the comment because she was pre-occupied with wondering how Rosie keeps her pumpkin sized head balanced on her shoulders.
