I'm mostly interested to hear how you introduce each song and of course the songs themselves. I suppose it would be tricky to edit out all the fundraising parts - so I wouldn't really mind them being in there. I just think it would be very interesting to hear a radio program with just Joni music, as it's kind of a rarity in the radio world. After all, the first time I got Joni tickets, I put my college career at risk AND braved a dangerous ice storm just to make sure I got tickets. This time, I'm not going to be able to get the tickets myself. I should be out of the hospital, but trying to go anywhere at that point would most likely actually kill me. (some of you may remember the thread about sacrifices we've made for Joni's music - the point here isn't just to get the tickets and 'win' that thread, but to survive to see the show :-) Tickets for the Boston show go on sale Monday, April 3 (at least that's what I've read). I told my sister Joan whose email is jsienkie@ebmail.gdeb.com that that's what I want for my birthday. If anyone could pass along info to her or help her in some way to get 2 tickets, that would be SO incredible. BTW, my surgery was switched AGAIN - now it's Tuesday, March 28 - this coming Tuesday. I've been gone a couple days and just had the chance to read this. Wow! Recognition and praise of us from the Siquomb herself! The rest of the interview is also very informative. Her criticism of the music biz is cogent and I loved reading that the recording of DJRD was her favorite studio experience. And she called it Brazilian! Ah! (If only she'd kept the Brazilian-tinged version of Dreamland in). I've been wondering how she was going to fit in all the events coming up and she also expressed concerned with fitting it all in - she noted that the Saskatoon art opening may be delayed so I guess we should keep an eye on this. And she's already begun the next album and will be recording in London again in August. I'm amazed at how hard she works. At the moment, the cookbook is not available online. However, I will be adding a cookbook section to JMDL and will include photos of what I sent to Joni. I will try to get going on this project soon. Have been very busy lately working with Sue, Mark and Howard on the JMDL guitar section. As far as publishing, as far as I know, Michael Paz's wife Freda will be working on this. I had mentioned to him last winter that I thought it would be nice to open the book one last time for contributions before we went to press, and then I never did open the book up again for contributions - I just needed a break from the whole project and have been dragging my feet. Now I'm not sure if it's still possible to open the book up. I think it would be nice and I'm willing to collect additional recipes/bios, say in the next two-week period, if it's still okay with Freda. As a group (the JMDL), we need to talk about if we still want to have the bios in their present format for the published version. Some people had expressed reservations about having their bios made publicly available at all. I left off the NJC tag in case there are any Joni-only listers who are interested in the cookbook project. It was foreseen that we would send several copies of the final published version to Joni for herself, family and friends.
